Exidus Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 The following are some QoL changes, that really don't impact the game, but more speed up mission beginnings. Often times, when grouping, an MM will be just finishing casting their 3rd type, when the group is ready to start progressing through the mission/TF/etc. As an MM, we have to summon all of our pet types, wait for their animations to finish, then start doing our upgrades one by one. While doing this, any of our pets that also have buffs, start doing those one by one. In all, it takes quite a while to get started, and increasing the higher your level. So I propose these changes: Pet Upgrade powers T1 & T2 - Allow these powers to apply their effect to all of the mastermind's pets (similar to the change to shield/aura powers) Pet Buffs - Pets that also buff (ex. shields from T2 robot) effect the entire upon a single cast (exactly like aura/shields) Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.
Tenkay Volts Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Pet upgrades are already an AoE style effect, so long as your pets are all nearby whichever pet you cast it on, they'll all get upgraded. I personally would go for an autopower where it was applied to pets automatically. InGame: @10kVolts | Tenkay's Log Combat Parser
Exidus Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 That's not apparent that the upgrades are more than just one pet. When I use an upgrade only 1 pet shows the animation, thus making players feel that they need to do it 1 by 1. But ty for the information about the buff though.
Super Homer Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 It's weird, I guess because some of those animations were designed to only target one peep. Like the mercs, tossing a thing to a peep. Making it AoE was convenient, but you cant toss 6 things and make all your peeps get one without it looking weird. Maybe a float above each one of their heads (like crits) that reads "UPGRADED"
gameboy1234 Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 All pets have a graphical upgrade when they get hit by the pet buffs. The pets look different when they've been buffed, so you can tell if they're upgraded just by looking at them. Robots get red lights, usually on their backs. The main bot gets a visible weapon upgrade. Wolves and zombies get auras and breath upgrades. Etc. Look carefully at your pets after upgrading so you can tell the difference. Actual suggestion: The default macros for controlling pets never use Defensive, and therefore never activate Bodyguard mode. The three macros are Attack Aggressive, Follow Aggressive, Follow Passive. The second one should be changed to "Follow Defensive" so that newbie masterminds can use Bodyguard mode. This goes for the icons on the pet window too.
