Kin/Psy help

Hello Paragon City!  I just started back into the glory of Coh Homecoming and am so happy it's here!!

 

I am reforming from my scrapper ways and want some help with a Kin/Psy Defender.  It's based on a character concept, so not just min/maxing, but I seem to remember that Kinetics does not require 6 slotting all of the powers.  Has anyone tried this build?  I only plan to solo some of the time.

I tossed together a fairly basic build. The leveling order probably isn't ideal, though.

 

I also did it as a Corruptor for two reasons. First, Psychic Blast has a better second than first power. Second, Kinetics tends to work better as a Corruptor due to the higher +damage cap.

 

The basic goal was to reach 45 S/L Def while preserving a decent offensive; Rune of Protection can hopefully cover some of the gaps. Most of the powers are slotted in ways that, if not ideal, should give you an idea of what you might want to explore.

I appreciate the insight as far as corruptor, but not really what i'm interested in.  I don't know for sure how to slot things as a defender, or what power pools to take.  Most people here are gearing for max def soft cap?  I'm not 100% sold on that because you're locked into the tough/weave route and combat jumping.  I'm not sure a kin def needs a movement power at all!
