Am I crazy? Staff Question

Yes I am (crazy), thank you for coming.

 

While I've got you here, is the animation time on Staff tanker longer than other sets? I feel like when I taunt with my staff out 😉 that my character swings it behind his back before he starts the normal taunt animation. It is driving me insane!!! I'm trying to get a Rad Armor tank to 50 but I don't think staff is going to make it.

 

Anyone have and great pairings for Rad armor? I was thinking Dark/Ice/energy/kinetic as I have not run these on a tank AND they sound fun!

According to Mids, Staff taunt is actually shorter on Tanker than on Brute and Scrapper

 

Tanker = 1sec

Brute = 2sec

Scrapper Confront = 2sec

 

However in the character creator:
Tanker = 2sec
Brute = 2sec
Scrapper Confront = 2sec

Compared to other powersets for Tanker

Broadsword = 1.67sec
Dual Blade = 1.97sec
Electric Melee = 1.67sec
SS = 1.67sec

 

Seems like pretty much all of the other ATs get their taunt at either 1.67sec or 1.97 sec making Staff the slowest taunt available

Rad/Dark melee is an amazing combo for tanks and brutes.  Lots of +damage, endless endurance, and 2 heals as part of your attack chain to keep your HP topped off form whatever little bit gets through defense and resistance.

Neither is 50 yet, but I have both a rad/kin and a rad/savage; both are really fun. For Kinetic Combat, you have the interesting option of putting a force feedback and knockback to knockdown proc into Repulsing Torrent -- it's a 45 degree cone with a base range of 40, rather unique among tanker sets -- and using it instead of or in addition to Taunt. It's just an all-around fun set and the animations that people complain about go well with my character concept.

 

You didn't mention it on your list of possibles, but for Savage Melee, I am not yet to the level where I have skills that consume Blood Frenzy... but it's my understanding that a full-stacks of BF Rending Flurry (a pbaoe) has a quite impressive radius. Plus, Blood Frenzy gives you an endurance discount and recharge bonus, the latter of which goes like icing on top of the cake of Beta Decay.
