So one of the first things I loved about CoH back in the day was the ability to customize my key mapping since I cannot use a "standard MMO" layout to play - long story but have nerve damage in my hands. . .

 

So I was able to map my keys to suit my playing ability and was just wondering how some of you have your layouts - whether you are a newbie or an old timer like me. . .

 

I run a pretty normal tray set-up:
Tray 1 = 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 then down arrow

Tray 2 + Alt+ 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 then up arrow

H = hasten

B = any build up power

C  = Combat Jumping

S = Travel Power

R = Sprint

 

and then the fun ones:
Movement Keys: Numpad 8 Forward, Numpad 4 Left, Numpad 6 Right, Numpad 2 Backwards with Numpad 4 and 6 = strafe

Inspirations: Numpad 7 = 1st row, Numpad 9 = 2nd row, Numpad 1 = 3rd Row, Numpad 3 = 4th row, and numpad 0 = Row 5

 

Any other crazy configurers out there?!?!

I have rather intricate key-mapping so that it can be used on all my characters.  It is too hard to get used to a different layout for different ones.

I started playing this game using the numpad to move-- FF11 was extremely cumbersome with its WASD keys, and the default was actually the numpad - so I got used to that, and used it for a long long time... into wow before i eventually switched. Cant believe i ever played that way TBH, lol. But I was so used to it from years of FF11... it just stuck for so long.

 

Anyways, now I use WASD...

 

But I have pretty specific keys for specific things (which is present across ALL mmos I play)

1-6: Main attacks

7 sometimes buffs/weird abilities

Alt 1-3, primary abilities and/or defensive

Alt 4 Decursive, no other alt+num keys

Control 1-4 Rarely used, here just buffs

Travel = T, Shift T for teleport alternates

H for primary defensive

V=Buildups, E=an AoE, Q = a single target buff/debuff/ground target, Alt+E = big buff nowadays hasten, Alt+q=big self buff usually Domination

Those rarely get used.
