How do I remove “the” from my name?

I renamed my character and I’m still stuck with “the” in front of it. Is there a way to remove “the” from your name in game?

I think you need to speak to a trainer and the option is there.

The game doesn't automatically put 'The' in front of your name.  You enabled it. If you go to a trainer, there's an option to select/change a title. You can modify it there.
