SolarisFall Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 (edited) I came back to the game a few days ago after not playing for years since live, and I'm looking for some help and information for a water/time blaster I'm working on. I haven't played a blaster since the archery set came out, but I'm really liking the animations in the water set. My questions are: 1-Is it important for blasters to try and softcap S/L (or even F/C) defense? or is capping Ranged (and incidentally E/N) good enough? I have no plans to play in melee range with this character, but in my browsing, I've seen quite a few builds still go for S/L softcap. I won't be farming at all with this character. 2-Is resistance a concern at all? it seems unlikely to be able to reach any sort of meaningful resistance number unless I specifically go for those powers, probably weakening the build in the process. 3-Is Degen Core Flawless Interface really the best choice now? I see it quite often for many builds and archetypes. Back in my days, Reactive Core Flawless was all the rage for the -Res. I'm using T4 Core Musculature, T4 Assault Radial, T4 Ageless Core, and T4 Degen Core. Here's the build I have so far. Build cost isn't a factor, I just want to make the most efficient build possible. I love that this powerset has tons of slots for -Res procs and FF +Recharge, however it seems that I had to forgo many of them to be able to softcap def, which made me a little sad. Carnifax Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 (edited) Mine is in my sig. I mostly went for Ranged def too, but also went Ice epic for the S/L Armour and Hoarfrost. No Winters or Purple sets (a few Purple procs where appropriate, Waters weakness is meh single target damage). I didn't go further down the "purple and Winters" route because Too Many Alts. Hovering with Hoarfrost + capped ranged + a decent chunk of s/l + your Absorb shield + a self-heal blast makes you quite sustainably tough.
