Bring Everyone Back Home

Depends on my mood and if I'm roleplaying or not.
Some of them I intentionally get defeated by aggro'ing several groups, and then running away while the escortee is getting attacked from all angles.
Some of them I carefully bring to the entrance of the mission, then abandon them there so they lose sight of me.  Alternatively, I'll avoid the trigger to free them entirely until I've cleared the rest of the map.
And sometimes I just don't overthink it, and pretend they're not there and don't care what happens.

And while testing Piecemeal's new arcs, I did all three, for each mission.
Discovered you could originally get Pierce defeated in the villain mission where you break her out of PPD custody by constantly riding the elevators up and down.  That's been corrected, though.  Seems she can't drop below 1 HP any longer.

What bothers me most is that the AI these NPCs are given does not make them act like rescued hostages who are trying to escape.  Dr. Todd in Moonfire is probably the worst offender here.  She apparently has kinetic powers that enable her to run extra fast towards any mob she sees, which she will immediately attack after being rescued from a group of the same.  Using the Assemble the Team trick is about the only way not to fail that mission, and you had better hope that she's still stuck on a  teammate rather than running around unsupervised.

Hers is the worst death wish, I think, though Lady Jane and Fusionette are not much better.
