Yaramos Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I'm trying to do the mission "Get sample from the Clockwork" from Maggie Greene, and I'm getting recursive Gears spawning. Yesterday, I ended up with around 20 of them from three LT mobs I took out, and today there were 4 with the first group of clockwork. However, every time I killed one Gear, 4 more spawned. I haven't forced a mission complete yet, but I'd like to be able to complete it and move on. Should I just complete it and move on, or did you want to see it in action?
Hardship Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Is this the mission where the 'pile of junk' spawns a bunch of gears? Maybe they are tagged to the previous round of gears getting defeated??
Yaramos Posted August 25, 2021 Author Posted August 25, 2021 No, "Get sample from the Clockwork" is what shows as the mission title. And while the first time they started piling up was from a large pile of junk, this last time I didn't look for a pile though there may have been one there. But they kept endlessly spawning, and I can't fend off that many.

(And they can't accidentally get it via crossed wire, dark magic, Loki antics, etc.) 😄 Could you imagine, though? Like clockwork Tribbles! "Science. Science, my friend, requires radical gambles and adventures in malpractice sometimes. Take solace in the fact that I tested the majority of these things on the dead, the re-dead, and the nearly departed before I went to live trials. Honestly, most of my "specimens" were several iterations past being considered a human being with their original fingerprints, teeth, or IDs. So it was rather a lot like experimenting on moaning clay putty." Got time to spare? Want to see Homecoming thrive? Consider volunteering as a Game Master! For science and community!
Yaramos Posted August 27, 2021 Author Posted August 27, 2021 Yeah, turns out that's what it was. I couldn't target it for some reason, so I had a friend come in and help me clear them out. Then I was able to target it.
