I havent played since Live and started farming againly recently to support some future builds.  Havent put a build together in a  very very long time so I just wanted to post what Ive got so far and see if anyone could punch any holes in what ive got.  I imagine Im missing something somewhere but cant see it myself or just dont know the intricacies the way I used to 😄

 

Not worried about cost, also not trying to set records, just want less hiccups while farming. 🙂

 

This character will probably never leave the AE building, Non farming content will be done with other characters.

I'd say you are about 4% over what you need for Fire Farming on Fire defense.  You have the 3% IO from Gladiators but not Steadfast, which is cheaper.  I don't think the 6th Slot of Aegis in Plasma Shield does you any good for Fire farming. Similarly the bonuses from Unrelenting Fury in Spine Burst aren't the greatest, I like having the +regen/+end IO. Being over the 90% fire resist cap, I don't think the Shield Wall IO does you good in Maneuvers. 

 

Personal Preference, I'd move a recharge from Fiery Embrace to Hasten, drop the slots in Char and get Throw Spines, drop Leadership pool add a power from concealment to take the LotG and Combat Jumping.  Move a slot from Maneuvers to Weave and you'd still be over 45% fire defense.  

 

I think with all those Winter Sets and Purple Sets you can put the slots into Temperature Protection instead of Plasma Shield and hit the Fire resist cap without needing to run two toggles.

 

All that said, it's rather nit picky. What you have will clear fire farms.

 

 

Consider grabbing the newest version of Mids. This data chunk might not open for you.

This is what I ended up with after grabbing reborn and tinkering with what you linked.

 

Shoot some holes in it see if I messed up too badly.  I prefer to run Plasma for the other resists (I doubt ill ever need it but who knows, easier then having a complete second build for me atm )

Edit: I had to change hasten back to 2 slots, on my old pines it showed hasten being perma with the recharge rate/one slot.  The newer version of mids shows signifficantly different stats- I had been using the new build but referencing old numbers.

How are the 2+ year old builds that dont even reflect game changes, still valid?

 

I understand using them as a basic guide but most of them do not reflect what people are actually using in 2021....

At least from what people in game have told me.  Ive been told to stay away from dated builds that dont have updates in the last 6 months

 

Ive had trouble just getting basic information from people in game though, almost everyone contradicts each other 😄

What information do you think is out dated?  Fire Farms are Do you have enough Fire defense and Fire resist to survive?  If you are using Fiery Armor you almost certainly have the resists. After that, Can you hit +4s, and the accuracy bonus on the purple sets helps with that combined with slotting powers for accuracy. Throw in as much global recharge as possible, and procs and spam those AoE attacks. Use inspirations as needed for damage, defense, resists, or endurance management as needed.  Get your level shift from alpha slot, maybe ageless from Destiny, and I like a ranged judgement attack and a debuff from interface.  Go crazy and get an untouchable pet to help with agro management. 

 

But the set bonuses from when the game was live are all still out there and you can see how people handled the items above differently. That's why not a lot of threads on fire farming get a ton of responses, the questions have been answered multiple times, and they don't really change.

How is a game mechanic that is 15 years old causing a build of any time period to be invalid?  Its +resist +defense +recharge +tohit and move on from there. 

 

When IO sets came along, it actually became easier.   People without a clue how to build pick up KB protection, the +5% resist IO, and over slotting stamina with 3 slots + health with 4 procs and picking up Superior Conditioning + Physical Perfection for more +endurance recovery.  So many people seem to think a fire farm is PVE level content like its 2004, burn is less than 6 endurance and your toggles are barely push 1.5, my Savage melee/fire is 1.55/2.5 cost/recovery with sprint and 6 toggles.  Incarnate power Destiny: Ageless Core Ephiphany lasts for 2 minutes and is a freaking Monster/Rockstar/Full Throttle, you cap out at 8.49 end per second, it drops to 7.2 for 30 seconds, 5.6 for 30 seconds, 4.2 for almost a minute.  You cannot run out of endurance, period.  Selecting all these powers and over slotting prevents them from picking up 1 extra AoE in the epics (which they select Energy Master for pointless passive endurance recovery) and they can't get decent set bonuses like global +recharge because they blew all those wasted slots in Stamina/Health so Burn only has 4; they also don't slot utility IOs that give -resist which increases the damage of the next hit.

 

When people are suggesting something, it means the information is still valid regardless of age.
