TheOtherTed Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 (edited) Apparently, the "Anniversary Edition" of Skyrim SE will pretty much break many (if not most, or all) existing mods. Here's the Reddit thread explaining the issue and how to circumvent it. I'm neither a coder nor a modder, so I can only parrot the basics here, but if you set Skyrim SE to update only when launched and run the game through SKSE64 (or a mod organizer that uses it), supposedly your mods should be safe. Edit: Supposedly, putting Steam in "offline mode" before starting the game should also do the trick. Given how long it took for SE modding to match (and surpass) "Legendary Edition" levels after launch, I can only imagine how long it will take for AE. Edited October 14, 2021 by TheOtherTed 1
OmegaOne Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Of course - right as I am in the middle of a playthrough. Took the advice to set the game to update only when started in steam, and will start it with the script extender exe in Vortex - fingers crossed this actually works. 1
Optimum_Man Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I have had a lot of trouble with my Steam version anyway so I just haven’t been playing it, modded or unmodded. But this is good to know, thank you for sharing. You pay to play, having fun is ok, kill Skuls or kill Crey, hunt at night or in the day, black or white or shades of gray, play it your way, we have no say.
