Glubba Posted December 16, 2021 Share Posted December 16, 2021 So I'm torn in the creation of my first blaster. Thematically I'm looking at rifle wielding (obviously). Whether that's futuristic or more modern doesn't matter to me in the grand scheme of things. I'm just wondering from all you blaster mains if you feel there are pros/cons of these two options. Or perhaps the major differences in gameplay are. I know there are differences in all powersets but this will be my first foray into blaster territory. I've read a bit on the forums and seen quite a bit about AR, but not quite as much about BR and I'm not entirely sure I understand the nuances of the disintegrate mechanic. I do like big numbers.... AR has good combos and with Dev good protection and survivability. Beam was a little to single target and i struggled with bigger mobs. I ended up being stuck to only being able to use the nuke and trip mine for big mobs. Also the animation for beam is ...time consuming..even worse than AR. I was looking at MIDS and it seems to me that damage per animation of LRM is 115 every 80 seconds, and M30 is 146 every 5.35 seconds. I know I asked you in the other post about M30 grenade, and I am a middling MIDS operator at best, but why do you prefer LRM over M30? Opening with LRM and then full auto if needed will take out a whole mob. LRM will kill a mob on it's own some times.
