Launcher slow to launch

Recently I uninstalled Mids, this caused deletion of most of my desktop shortcuts and all my text files. This turns out to be a known problem.

 

Now I restored my HC Launcher by going to the game install folder and using "Send to..Desktop" on the shortcut there.

But now the launcher takes a full minute or more to launch.

One of the things I loved about the new launcher was how fast it loaded, I do not understand what is causing this slow down.

 

Any ideas of what I might do/try to get it to work like it did?

Would reinstalling help?

@jkwakFrom what little I understand of it, a version of Mid's from a year or so ago will delete , and I mean permanently , all or some of your desktop stuff when you uninstall it.

I lost a bunch of text files and shortcuts.

The simplest thing may be to do a complete reinstall of the Homecoming Launcher, this doesn't take a long time and may correct whatever is slowing it down.
