Claws/Elec Armor build advice - Is this stupid?

I'm not a build master and the ones I have done have taken me FOREVER to develop and usually end up being less than I expected. Most of the time I pilfer builds and go with those. That said, boredom and free time got me working on this one and I'm not sure what to think. On paper it appears solid but I can't help the feeling I have overlooked something incredibly dumb (toxic hole notwithstanding). I know it's expensive but I think I have most of the uber expensive pieces already sitting around. I'm currently leveling this one up with the expectation of transferring it to another server to run with some old friends from back from the live days. So it's going fully kitted and for the most part that's how it will have to stay since it won't have access to my main group of alts and all their stuff. 

 

All in all, am I overlooking something? Is there some wasted slotting? Some egregious overkill somewhere?

Slotting for Mez in Soul Tentacles will obviously mean its damage is underwhelming, but I question if you even need it for an actual attack. It feels like it is more there for the set bonuses. The overall numbers look good though.

That was my thinking. It was just a cheap purple set bonus and more importantly to me, a bridge to Darkest Night for that extra psuedo-defense buffer in the end game. I'm not really sure it's necessary though.

 

I am having a bit of heartburn leaving Eviscerate on shelf though I always feel like it's long animation doesn't fit the rest of Claws or lend itself to any attack chain.  I'm guessing FU-Slash-Focus-Spin (or Shockwave)-FU with Lightning Field ticking away should mostly passively eat away the trash mobs.

I know I don't need it on a Scrapper, and I think it would be easily skippable outside of that where Spin has a longer recharge. I need to get back on my Claws/wp Brute to be honest to see how close I am. I need to fix the Incarnates on that build as well. /elec should be able to pull it off though at least in my head. I don't have a recharge number to make FU + Spin + Shockwave gapless.

 

DN will be more helpful solo, but I would honestly wonder how much it is needed.

You could pick up gloom to fill in the gap when you are doing single target only.  It's cast time and damage is about the same as focus (although DoT) and having so much ranged on a melee is fun.
