Beam/energy/?

I have read through all 48 pages on the blaster forums. I am looking for a good Beam Rifle/Energy Manip build. I am not picky about much of anything since I am brand new to blasters except I am already Technology origin. Any help is appreciated.

Built for what? There are so many possible ways to build an beam/energy blaster. I think you should expand on your post with what your goals are, what I nd of content you plan to use it for, and then take a stab at a mids build to see how you do towards meeting your goals.

Don't have specific goals at the moment. Just joined and haven't played since I was in Korea circa 2004-5. Just wanted something I could enjoy solo and in pick-up groups. Wanted to fly around and shoot things with an energy beam and not die.

Beam Rifle is sometimes abbreviated "BR" so look for those in the title/body preview as well. If you scroll down on that result there's one that stands out that can get you started:
