Scribe Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Does anyone has actual experience with running this? I’m interested is learning if it constantly checks for mezzed targets and applies the dmg, or if it only applies the chance at the launch of a control power. I think it could have a place for toons that use aoe immobs often ie fire cages. Those smallish proc numbers should add up at a 75% chance
twozerofoxtrot Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Yes I run this on one Dom. I recall sometime earlier in the year talking in the Discord about it versus Assault Hybrid's proc. I don't math, but someone in there did and the bottom line was that it did potentially more damage but had a lower proc chance than Assault Hybrid. Or something. Basically it makes sense to use it if you're using a lot of cones. On anything else (like the AoE immobs) you're going to slightly edge ahead on damage procs with Assault. Now... this is all fuzzy. I'd invite whomever to post math. But the one Dom I run it on spams Cross Punch and Spinning Kick constantly on mezzed targets, so it works out.
Scribe Posted November 11, 2022 Author Posted November 11, 2022 Thank you! I appreciate you answering this

I guess my next question would be, how does Control core and Ice storm interact with mezzed mobs.
Uun Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I run this on my Fire/Nature controller. I believe it checks for controlled enemies every 10 seconds. Enemies qualify as "controlled" if under the effect of: confuse, fear, hold, immobilize, sleep or stun. 2 hours ago, Scribe said: I guess my next question would be, how does Control core and Ice storm interact with mezzed mobs. Ice Storm has no control effect and will not cause Waylay to proc. Avoid is not fear. Uuniverse

It won't proc more than once per foe (if they are affected by more than one control), but it does seem to proc quite often judging by all the "Waylay!" combat text spam. Uuniverse

So the check for proc is on on the attack having a control, it's if the mob is mezzed. As I said, I run this on a Dom with Spinning Kick and Cross Punch to fish for procs. While Cross Punch does have a stun component, Spinning Kick just does knockdown. Both are pretty effective at procing Waylay. Just in case I had some Mandella-effect brainfuzz going on, I hopped on and tested it: So @Scribe, if you cast any sort of damaging ability on a controlled target, there is a chance for Waylay. 1
