Help with different color options in creation

Sorry if this topic has been addressed before, I searched but didn't find anything.  I just downloaded this game last night and haven't played since the original. I remember in the original game a way to create a character and choose different color schemes for the outfit, skin, etc. by unlinking the colors.  Is there a way to do that in this game?

Yes, the costume creator is (mostly) just like it was on live. There are a bunch of new additional costume pieces and features like being able to use different right/left arm/leg/shoulder pieces and expanded weapon customization, but functionally it's the same.

You're likely looking for the "costume colors linked" and "skin color" buttons, as shown in the picture.

One thing I do to speed things up a bit, I set the costume colors linked, and select my two "main" colors so all outfit pieces are color-coordinated by default. Then I click the Link icon to Unlink them, and adjust each item as needed. It's faster that way if your costume needs a few tweaks here and there, but doesn't help if every piece is going to be different colors.

 

Power color customization works similarly.
