Looking for a plant/thorn soloing build

So by merit farmer you mean farming TFs? Or just running Orro arcs?

 

I personally have not been to big of a fan of throns as a secondary. Its ok, and i get if a theme is important. But i have a Plant/earth Domintor. Obviously is a perma-dom and he can solo just about anything i have put him up against in the past. I have never really pushed him against AVs and such solo in TFs, but i can mostly solo +4/8 mission content with him pretty easily.

Plant/Psi. Confuse, an Aoe recovery power, PAOE attack that stuns and gets a benefit from domination, the Aoe patch that spawns more pseudo attacks, Aoe hold.  The Psi attacks are effective against anything not a robot but they are not super level damage, the confuse is your bread to soften the enemy followed by the butter of AoE attacks and pets.

I also have a Plant/Thorn, I enjoy it it is a lot of fun, one thing I'd say is to build with endurance reductions in mind and some recovery set bonuses with two attuned enhancements. I'm still workshopping it, really trying to perfect it, i have 14 hp/sec and like 4 regen/sec lol (id like 20HP/SEC), as of right now soloing, +1 with team size 1ish probably to 3, he's sturdy, especially with your plant pet. I impulsively slotted enhancements and realized it needed to get more set bonuses and re-slot stuff, so don't make the mistake I did, focus Recovery bouns and then regen, and whatever third you want to boost. I am running Stealth and Infiltration with full defense sets as well. Ripper in thorny assault is doing 200+ damage so decent damage. Hope that helps.

This build below is ranged softcap with good recharge and also endurance friendly. Will require Agility incarnate to ensure ranged defense and will allow you to pick rebirth for heals cause you endurance will be safe and covered. 

 

You will be able to solo 54x8 without issues.
