BatMorph Posted January 20 Share Posted January 20 I see the Arena in the Forums for recruiting for PVP, yet nothing for recruiting for a PVE SG. I was already in one & they were nice enough, yet more like a clique that just kept adding folks to the SG. They almost never had teams running to help SG members. It would be cool if there were a place in the forums where SGs could add their recruiting info for folks to consider joining them, or be able to send someone a tell in game to ask more about the SG. Shenanigunner Posted January 20 Share Posted January 20 Except for a few niche interests, it's my impression that SGs are all but obsolete in the HC game. With no need to recruit dozens of players to generate Prestige to build an adequate base, it's become far more common for every player to roll up their own base for their alts and a few friends, and move on. Getting a recruit means getting someone who has no interest in their own base (or maybe hasn't figured out bases are free and fairly easy to construct, at least on a utilitarian level), or the small crowd that will trade their own base for the 'social' advantages of a traditional SG. No. The advantage of SGs now is for storage mainly, collecting alts and if desired forming a small temporary specialising team. A lot of SGs are so large that if you are an altoholic, by the time you return to a previous toon to run it again which was in somebody else's SG it will have been kicked. So not worth joining any other SG unless for a specific purpose and if you are regularly on without a break. That isn't how most play so they use SGs for utilitarian purposes as Shenanigunner says.
