Beam/Devices Building for ST viable?

Hey. I've been looking around for a build to work towards and while i saw and really liked Snarkys' build for single target damage but it's Beam/Temp

Would I be able to Frankenstein's monster both of these together for a ST build? Or is Beam/Devices better suited to be something else.

Here is my favorite AR Dev build.  it sacrifices some ranged defense.,..for more range lol.  and damage.  also, you can throw a smoke grenade over 100' with this build to tohit debuff a group.
