Without wanting to wander into the current political nonsense (or recent past since I have a hard time keeping up to date with it all), Countess Crey = Imposter = FAKE NEWS! LOL.  I don't know if it was meant by the current arc but it starts with something along the lines of (should have taken a screenshot!) we know this thing but we can't prove it. Probably applies to the identity too.

Something not clear to me from either Corlett or Kellum is when the Countess married the Count.  Did she replace a wife or a girlfriend and then married him herself?  I'm not sure it makes any difference in the long run but I like to think about story as I go.

Maybe we'll get that story in a future update (or in AE, anyone?)

NO!  I haven't been able to get my final Goldsider trilogy done yet so looking at something like this is totally out!  ROFL.

Anyway, how DO you keep a powerful psychic arrested?  Later you see she's out and you complain to the PPD, but they say she was never there and have no memory of it, and that police station now has some Crey upgrades to their equipment, all very civic and responsible.  CCTV?  No, the old systems were taken away for storage.  😄

Do you mean this, after the Holodeck mission?

Seriously? That's... I don't know what to say to that. You literally have proof that Countess Crey poisoned her husband. Well, evidence. Actually being able to prove it is another thing entirely.

I guess that could be read as implying an understanding of what happened in Kellum's arc.  But it could also be read as being the first anyone had ever heard of it.  Hm.

Also: this arc references Manticore's TF and the Revenant Hero Project (Gordon Stacy's arc).  Odd that it wouldn't also mention Janet Kellum's arc, if it's meant to follow it.

That reference to the Revenant Hero Project ("Project Locke") doesn't help us place this arc either.  The reference treats the project as something that's ongoing, but Gordon Stacy's arc just ends with a lab being taken out and the lead scientist arrested.  The project could easily still be going on later.  Still, it seems more likely that this arc is best located in the lore either before Gordon Stacy's arc or at the same time.

Speaking of missed opportunities, this would have been a great arc to insert a different opening dialog based on whether the character had done Janet Kellum's or Gordon Stacy's arcs.

I think the timeline is (spoilers for a nearly 20 year-old story arc):

Spoiler

Julianne Thompson kills Clarissa Van Dorn, then takes her place and marries Count Crey.  She then puts Count Crey into a coma, which he's still in as of the events of Janet Kellum's arc (and this one).

Paragon City really needs to up their defenses against psychics.  Put Penny Yin on it, okay?

But Countess Crey's real challenge isn't getting out of prison, it's regaining control of Crey.  Her assets are frozen, her crimes have been made public, and even if she's free there's a warrant out for her re-arrest.  She can't run Crey anymore as if nothing happened.  There at least needs to be a veneer of legitimacy.  Or else Crey needs to shift to being a full-on criminal organization—in which case I doubt Hero Corps would be working with Crey anymore.

The holodeck mission is definitely set in the past.  Bein has been gone for 3 years - and the references to a Bein I can find on the Wiki relate to Dr Rudy Bein Synapse - Unofficial Homecoming Wiki here, Positron - Unofficial Homecoming Wiki here and here Tyranny Legion - Unofficial Homecoming Wiki, plus some reference to a Dr Bein in the Crey history.  So I'm assuming that may be the same guy.  So, whenever he disappeared, it's now 3 years after that.  So that holodeck thing is very definitely in the long past. The fallout from Manticore seems like wrap up and hunt down any stray runners rather than anything else, and now there's another avenue discovered that can be investigated but that thing is still over.  Unless of course Project Locke was in multiple silos and only one part of it was uncovered.

Good point.  I was thinking of where the holodeck mission put this arc in the timeline, but I forgot that the holodeck mission itself was set in the past relative to the rest of the story arc.

@Zhym I'm wondering is Dr. Paul Summerfeld from Gordon Stacy's arc actually Doctor Generic from the Holodeck mission here?

Oooh.  That is now officially my headcanon.
