pyrocide
So I have my own build and then a template build. The template build has a global damage buff of 194%, does 41.44dps with Blazing Aura. My own build some changes in powers (Summon Striker vs Super Jump), sets and a few slots here and there that add 4% damage from sets over the template to a grand total of 66% (sixty-six not one hundred and sixty-six). Blazing Aura (same set) does 19.95dps Same incarnates, same toggles, where is the difference in 128% damage coming from? Same build of Pine's (2.22). I am not the best builder but I thought I did a fairly decent job of keeping things relatively equivalent. Maybe I am just blind. Any help is appreciated Template Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! The other version has fury active, but set at 66. 132% Dambuff difference - you are likely picking up 4% from a set somewhere the other version isnt. pyrocide
Well that was just dumb of me. Thought I had set that, thank you! Ok, that is fixed-ish Changing to 66 Fury, increased damage to 208%. That'd be it except that Blazing Aura is still doing less damage than that of the template build (29.4 @ 208% vs 41.55 at 194%). Maddening. marcussmythe
Reactive Radial vs. Reactive Core. The added DOT Proc is going to have a large impact on a low damage power. Conventional wisdom seems to be that the 75% DOT/25% Debuff is superior for damage output. Second thing, isnt having a constant debuff proc 75% of the time on both irradiated and blazing auras go off every 2 seconds a better option that a moderate fire DOT? Depends on how much it stacks too and how long the target lives. Grab a pylon and let us know. Hopeling
Second thing, isnt having a constant debuff proc 75% of the time on both irradiated and blazing auras go off every 2 seconds a better option that a moderate fire DOT? Typically, no. The resistance debuff is quite small. Look at it this way: a 2.5% res debuff proc for 10 seconds basically adds (your DPS on that target*.025*10) damage. A DoT proc does five ticks of 13.39 damage, or 67 damage. That means you need to be doing 67/0.25=268 DPS *per target* just for the -res to break even, and in an AoE situation that's basically impossible. If you're building only for ST damage and you have an extremely strong build, you might possibly be better off with the -res. On a team where the -res boosts everyone's damage, that math changes, but it's also very likely that other people are applying the Reactive -res anyway, and it only goes to 4 stacks. 2-3 attackers each with a Reactive Radial t4 are going to keep the target at 4 stacks pretty reliably.
