Mind/Dark tips?

Been having a lot of fun with my new villainess Angela Heartless, especially doing all the costumes.

(Just missing a theme song - although with the Supernatural events on a lot at the moment, I seem to have intro music anyway.)

 

Some quick questions:

  • As I'm levelling up, what powers and combos should I prioritise? 
  • Any slotting tips?
  • Good ways to build a little bit of +DEF in?
  • /Soul seems the best Patron to take thematically... am I going to have a rough time with Ghost Widow?

Mind got a bit of an upgrade recently to telekinesis which used to be a skip for me but is now a priority pick with levitate and dominate. Hit TK and then levitate and the mob will clump up before taking damage it will act like an aoe. Fun combo. With gloom thrown in you have a ranged attack chain and a small aoe by lvl 12.

 

Can't help with the slotting i haven't levelled a toon up old skool since live.

 

Fighting pool will bump defence, tough for the resist uniques and weave for the defence uniques. Combat jumping/hover. Manouvres/Stealth. If you take psi as an epic link minds is +defence.

 

You can run any patron pool, whoever you defeat will unlock all the patrons, most players will run Black Scorp for ease and speed and beat up Dr Q for the unlocks.

I'll give a bit of a different advice from Meknomancer here on the Mind side. I don't build my Dominators for defense or resistance. I use the epic shield for a little extra safety, but it isn't a priority. Mind has a ton of control options for groups. Wide range Fear, targeted AoE sleep, targeted AoE Hold, and targeted AoE confuse means that any group I come up to I can usually lock down without too much difficulty. 

 

When Domination is up, you should never have to worry about your defense or resist. The mobs won't be attacking you anyway. Unless, they resist whatever you're throwing at them. Key one here is the ITF. Those Cimerorans resist everything. Annoyingly so. That's what your teammates are there for though. 

 

I tend to slot my ST hold and ST sleep for damage though (ST Hold gets procs). Even when the mob resists, they can hit really hard.
