biostem Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 So I watched the first 2 episodes yesterday, and I have to say, this series, (while definitely NOT for children), has just the right amount of drama/angst while not taking itself too seriously. There is mature subject matter, and some very "not ok" topics introduced, but overall I found it very entertaining, with its dark humor and fight scenes. It's also nice to see some C/D/E/F-tier characters getting some air time... 1 1
biostem Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 One additional piece of info that I want to add is that there seems to be this trend in the episodes where they'll continue the story a little bit after or during the credits - they seem to be little vignettes about a particular character's backstory, so don't skip them!
biostem Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 The 3rd episode was rather heartbreaking, but still enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the next one... 1

biostem Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 The most recent episode was ok, but felt more like filler, (had a little backstory for Frankenstein). Dr. Phosphorous is kinda frightening!
biostem Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Well, the 1st season has concluded, and I have to say it definitely didn't disappoint! I do hope it gets renewed for more seasons! Try to avoid spoilers if you have even the tiniest interest in watching this series!
El D Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I enjoyed Creature Commandos! The character designs were great, the soundtrack fantastic, and the action scenes suitably stylish and gnarly. Slight spoiler-y comments, so putting the rest behind the curtain. Spoiler As necessary as the flashbacks were for most of the episodes, it does feel like they constrained the active plot a bit too much, but it's not like the overarching mission was incredibly complicated either. It feels like a bit of a sin to say this as great as David Harbour's Frankenstein is, but some of his content could have been trimmed down in-favor of more active mission moments with the main cast - in-particular the Bride and Nina. Nina's backstory was heartbreaking but I wish there was just a bit more of her connecting with the Bride before the finale. Also the Bride is the best and I want her in more things immediately. 1 1 Global is @El D, Everlasting Player, Recovering Altaholic.
biostem Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Some general thoughts & hopes for a 2nd season: Spoiler 1. I hope Nina's death doesn't just fade away, and that The Bride has grown a little as a result of it. 2. I hope we'll see what comes from Circe's premonition now being undone/prevented... or was it??? 3. I'm unclear on how they have any leverage or ability to control Dr. Phosphorus, given how he can easily melt through a tank. 4. Was the girl from Weasel's backstory the princess, or just looked similar? 5. Was the princess supernatural/a meta-human? 6. So I get that the princess of Pokolistan was essentially a tyrant and hoarding all the wealth for herself, but that still doesn't explain how she had a royal guard who wore power armor with integrated energy weapons, and how the princess was able to hire out the likes of Clayface to pull a "kill and replace" on that college professor, especially without Waller knowing.
