TheMoneyMaker Posted December 13 Posted December 13 Temporal Armor: available to all melee ATs, it's a combination of defense and enemy damage debuff with some healing and a slow aura toggle. Using the power to manipulate time, you avoid attacks and take away the momentum of your opponents' attacks. Healing can be looked at as either speeding up your metabolism or pulling some health from your past or future selves with temporal shenanigans. What sets the set apart is that it lacks resistance, relying on debuffing the enemies instead. This would make it beneficial for teams but if you limit it to those in melee range, it gives the set a hole against ranged attacks dealing full dmg. Medium: a psionic support set for defenders, corruptors, controllers, and masterminds. No healing, but you can buff your allies with strong Absorb buffs, as well as offering a mix of other ally buffs and team debuffs focused on -Rech and -Resist.....perhaps a possession effect in place of a foe removal effect like Force Field -> Detention Field, Sonic Resonance -> Sonic Cage, or Dark Miasma -> Petrifying Gaze. Add in a rez power that's basically pulling the user summoning the deceased's spirit back into their body. 2 1
Techhead Posted Monday at 12:50 PM Posted Monday at 12:50 PM Temporal Armor is a really fun idea, though with all the existing "X Armor" sets being res-based, "Temporal Aura" might be more suitable name for it. Could definitely come up with neat characters for it.

Take some elements of ice armor, energy aura, and perhaps some powers from blasters' temporal manipulation, to come with something that has a unique feel or playstyle... 1

I tried to come up with something other than the usual to set it apart, that's why defense + absorb instead of resists, but yeah there's a lot of room in using time to protect yourself to come up with various ideas and borrow elements of other powersets to work with it. A temporal echo could work like Phantom Army copies of yourself but they can't attack and can be fairly easily dispatched. Maybe that could be it's tier 9 power so that you don't have copies constantly but when you whip them out they're durable and draw aggro to themselves to protect you for a short duration.

What they could do is apply a placate effect, whilst at the same time creating the aforementioned "temporal echo", using a combination of illusion's phantom army mirror option, along with the destructible nature and taunt effect of the SoA's Omega device, (only with no damage component). 1
