Have a few questions that I can't seem to find addressed in the wiki, perhaps because there is no difference:

  1. I seem to recall hearing that XP inside AE missions was nerfed compared to "the real world," is that right?  How badly?
  2. How're the drop rates, the same as non-AE chances?
  3. Do XP boosters work as they normally do with-in AE missions?

I am clearly no farmer or I'd know all this by now of course ha ha

I'm pretty sure that XP boosters was as usual in AE. I can't speak to the drop rates.

I haven't done any real testing, but I think the XP is the same - one known difference to me is that AE missions don't offer mission completion experience rewards, the way normal missions do. So that might be the basis for people saying the AE mission XP vs in-game mission XP would be nerfed.

This is just my under-informed opinion. I haven't made a map of Council to specifically test if the minions, LTs, and bosses give the same individual XP as a regular mission Council map.

  1. 50% xp
  2. Same reward rate (if not playing for tickets...)
  3. Same multiplier for xp boosts

What skews things is just how fast a farm can make people gain xp and rewards in nigh total safety solo.  Bugs in xp boosters and servers having higher xp modifiers skews things even harder, though the main issue is the rewards.

Ah, thanks for the correct info on the XP amount.

Well, there goes another idea for getting people to play AE stuff.

I was thinking that I could make a collection of basically "radio" missions* and run them instead of the usual PI repeating treadmill, but that'd be a hard sell with that sort of XP hit.  Ironically, a step taken to prevent ridiculous farming practices ends up making AE farming the only way make playing the AE worth the time of "numbers go up" players ha ha.

*Too much reading, too many mechanics to think about, larger maps, scary custom-built foes are just chasing people away, perhaps, so why not condense the simple story down into the intro and the pop-up, allowing the usual easy "all levels welcome" steamrolling against a few different foe group on different but small maps?

If there's even the skeleton of a fun story to a collection of radio missions in an AE arc, I'd probably play it. I'd like to see something as a typical patrol for lower characters, and a typical patrol for higher end types.

I got this idea from some bloke hitting the LFG channel hard over the holiday season "come play my AE Christmas arc - not a farm!" and it was like perfect PI Radios alternative on the winter Croatoa map.  I went along a few times just for a change of pace and, as a "radio," it wasn't too bad at all.

Shame it sort of all ends in this usual dead end, but it's easy scripting so I'll probably post it sooner than my never-to-be-completed current epic.
