Hey all, I got my Shield Defense/War Mace tanker up to 50, now I'm considering how to turn a leveling build into something that's more end game oriented.  Here's one build I made, I thought I'd post it here for general commentary and nit picking.  Also in case I missed anything major or did a dumb thing, maybe someone will catch my mistake.  Ideas are welcome!

Oh right, if you want summary information from Mids, any info graphics or such-like, let me know.  Or the data-chunk thingy if you want to go that far.

 

You know what, eff it, here's at least the summary screen. (Edit: the "Haste" value is way too large, I think two procs were selected, the real value is 118%, and that's with Hasten running.)

It would be easier if you drop a download link to the build. You can drag and drop the save file into where you write comments at the bottom (it says "drag files here to attach, or choose files..." and that's where you want to drop your saved build).

 

There are a few power picks, or lack of power picks, that appear strange to me. You didn't take Physical Perfection which would help with endurance woes and instead went for Focused Accuracy. I'd absolutely swap those two at minimum. I'd also say you don't really need to run Tactics, it's an additional toggle that will eat up endurance. 95% accuracy with enemies at +3 should be the goal, anything higher than that won't help since all attacks have a minimum 5% chance to miss. The only exception is if you're facing acc/tohit debuffs.

 

Your overall resists (aside from s/l) and defenses are on the low side. The build I'm posting is just a change of my shield/dark to shield/mace with some powers switched around. Don't follow the levels at which powers are taken and this could further be optimized to get more positional defense. Barely getting to 45% positional isn't good enough since you can end up with cascading defense failure. This shouldn't be as big a problem if you always team and get additional cushion from Phalanx Fighting and whatever team buffs others are providing, but an extra ~10% would go a long way towards helping. You can play around with the slots to try and get more, my original build prioritized resist bonuses more and had some different powers/iso sets that didn't transfer over evenly when switching between dark and mace melee.

Thanks for this, I was a bit concerned about my defenses too, and wasn't sure about some picks.  I'll redo the build and see if it looks better (I got a whole bunch of stuff on the auction house I might have to re-do, oh well).

And it turns out that's a whole lotta purple and PVP for me to buy.  I figure if I could match your power choices I can just slot cheaper recipes for now and upgrade to something better later.  Well it gives me something to build towards at least.

I would suggest investing in some farmers, with a bit of farming you could fund an entire build in 1-2 days.
