Yomo Kimyata Posted May 23 Posted May 23 So, the proc has a ?4?% chance to reset Build Up. Cool, cool, but I was wondering if anyone has taken a deep (I.e. mathy) look into this? Specifically, are you best served by hitting Build Up every single time it pops up, or does the activation/animation time of the power throw you off from your attack chain too much DPS wise? I’ll welcome anecdotal as well as hard evidence. I don’t quite understand the listing in city of data, but I’m assuming the proc rate isn’t a hard 4% per power activated. I don’t play stalkers enough to have any confident answers for myself Who run Bartertown?
Due Regard Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Claws/Spines are 0.924s, the rest are all 1.32s... I'm sure the math can be done offa that, but my gut feeling on the stalkers I've ran to 50/given that proc to... I slam BU everytime it is recharged, unless I'm about to finish the spawn - then I save it for the next one. I feel it is more game-changing than even the Scrapper ATO's. References: DM/Inv - 50 Staff/SR - 50 Ice/Regen - 50 Psi/Nin - leveling Elec/EnA - leveling Sav/Ice - leveling Death is the best debuff.
EnjoyTheJourney Posted Wednesday at 03:15 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:15 PM (edited) Based on my experience so far it seems like the build up proc may activate more often when using AOE powers. Also, I tend to use it as soon as it becomes available in most situations, unless it is saved for the next spawn (like Due Regard above). For example, to open a fight with a new spawn with my savage stalker I often do the following ... build up savage leap into a spawn assassin's frenzy something placate rending flurry ... and fairly often build up recharges somewhere in that sequence, usually right after using savage leap or rending flurry. If build up recharges in the middle of this then I tend to use it immediately before moving on to the next power in that sequence. It may not be optimal in all cases to use build up right after it's available. But, a general pattern of doing that leverages muscle memory to keep up the speed at which powers are used, which in its own way tends to increase damage and to make playing a stalker a little simpler. Edit: It is perhaps worth mentioning that I tend to integrate savage leap into the single target attack chain, when it's available. Anecdotally, it has seemed that with multiple enemies around savage leap will proc build up quite a bit more often than any of the single target attacks used in the same attack sequence. This was the origin of my hypothesis that AOE powers are probably more likely to proc build up than single target attacks. Edited Thursday at 09:12 PM by EnjoyTheJourney
