RP events of the past (help needed)

Dear CoH community,

 

I need to convince 2 other people to play and enjoy MMO RPGs. During the conversation I told them, that there is the possibility of social events happening. Both did´n believe me. So I need some evidence now.

Could you please post YT-links or pics of RP events you participated in? No matter what it was (wedding, party, court hearing, prom night...)

Just something I can show potential new RPers. If you have something to show, please describe the event with a few words.

I don't think anyone has captured these sorts of things on video (honestly it might be seen as creepy?).

 

But maybe someone captured screens of the Hellfire Maelstrom Gala? I was only there in spirit but it turned out to be a marvelous event by all accounts.

 

Otherwise I would suggest potentially waiting for another event night like when Black Friday opens Lux or a KO fight club night and just stream a but via discord to give them a taste.

How can videos of a wedding be creepy?

As big RP events are rare I would consider them as nice memories.

But somehow, this is the answer I expected.

A friend of mine ran an open court session with his Judge character recently. I don't have permission to post his screenshots.

 

There are also almost daily club events, for dancing, hanging out, and so forth.

 

Once, I attended a concert in-character, that was really cool.

They never heard of RP in MMO RPGs so they can´t imagine a wedding, a party or a plot played IC.

Meanwhile they are both on Everlasting and still haven´t experienced RPing.

I might be reaching here but it sounds like they might just be uninterested in RP?

 

I know there's RPSGs like Wild Cards and Advocators that broadcast recruiting in LFG enough that even with my limited playtime I'm seeing them. So I have to imagine if they wanted to join them, they could. To say nothing of PresidentDSG's weekly open RP missions every Monday night.

 

I can understand them not wanting to go to club RP, too. Even to me it seems daunting unless you're going with someone you know or have a group you expect to fall in on.

 

Probably just want to play the game. I wouldn't stress it.

I suppose this was going to happen when the dominant pop culture idea of what a Role-Playing Game is became "Sitting alone at a computer/video game console and selecting one out of three dialogue options from a drop-down menu" instead of "Sitting around a table with friends and actually roleplaying a character you created."
