Locruid Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Little context: Couple weeks ago I started leveling a few characters to find "that one." the one that resonates with me. Did Arsenal/Devices (currently my fav) Electric/Devices Electric/Trick Arrow Fire/Time. With the exception of Arsenal/Devices, I stopped them about level 8 and tried a different approach. The other day I watched the "sniper" power of Storm and I was like THATS IT! BUT BUT BUT Im currently at level 5 and have missed more attacks than the previous 4 characters COMBINED. Sure I get the occasional miss from the others and maybe a bad string on the very rare occasion but seems almost EVERY SINGLE BATTLE I do I have 2-5 misses on 3 different powers. Does Storm have an inherent -tohit debuff put on the character or something? I have slotted all 5 characters the same up to level 8 and didnt have this issue on the others.
Nemu Posted July 2 Posted July 2 There is a little bit of truth to your observation: AR has a slight ACC bonus to attacks If you are using short circuit a lot that has a bonus to acc Other than that you are just experiencing the joy of low level progression, this is normal. Storm blast isn't inherently less accurate than other blasts. I recommend running content at -1/0 solo at low levels. It's not the mob xp that levels you up quickly, it's the mission completion bonus and story arc completion bonuses that speed up your leveling. If you want to accelerate testing out blaster combinations, you can do this on brainstorm and instant level to try out all the combinations. Liberty, Torchbearer, Excelsior, Everlasting Jezebel Delias Level 50 Fire/Elec/Mace Blaster I am the Inner Circle!

Uun Posted July 3 Posted July 3 If you run new characters through the Death from Below trial, select the Accuracy Enhancer temp power at completion. This provides you with a 12% tohit bonus that lasts until lvl 22. You can earn a similar temp power that lasts until lvl 30 by completing the Drowning in Blood Trial (lvl 15+). Uuniverse

Midnight Mystique Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Another thing to do to buff up your acc if you can spare about 8k inf for a new character is to talk to the S.T.A.R.T. vendor before you level past 1 and buy 8 hours worth of the 'offense amplifier' power. You will find it under Temporary powers -> buffs. It gives you 15% damage, 15% recharge and 10% to hit that last for 1 hour in game time per charge, you can buy up to 8 charges. It costs (LvL*Lvl) * 1000 inf, so at level 1 it costs 1000 inf per hour, goes up a lot faster after that (4k per hour at level 2, etc). That 8 hours is in game play time - it doesn't tick down when the char is logged out. It can easily last you into your high 20's/low 30's. If you can afford another 16k its well worth it to buy 8 hours each of the other two buffs - defensive amplifier and survival amplifier. The first gives you 4 points of status effect protection to EVERYTHING, plus 5% def and 7.5% resistance to all. The second gives you a nice HP, regen and recovery boost. Obviously a newly made character won't have any influence, but you can email inf to your global and any char on your account can claim it. 1
