I have started leveling and learning stalker play style.  But what build would be best,  will stealth help to hide from mobs?  Do I really need to contribute a lot to defense or can I go all out offensive?   Just a newbie to playing a stalker looking for advice.  I will post my planned build later

Your character will evolve as it grows. Some powers may be important early and not needed later in the game.

I would recommend going all offense and taking placate. A scrappy bugger who is there and then not there.

Hide should be good enough for most situations.

I rather like stalkers, and as you grow in level you'll be looking at all the powers. I don't worry too much about builds, I just throw any purple sets that are available into them and seem to do OK.

Builds are great, but this isn't Diablo. We don't have to worry about clearing pit levels at increasing difficulty. The hard part of stalkers is trying to work out the best place to slot the stalker ATO's so the chance to hide proc is most useful.

Well you picked the best offense and armor that stalkers can get.

On stalkers depending how good you are at avoiding the interrupt time on Assassin's Strike that is usually your lead or 2nd attack.  On Energy though I lead with Total Focus since it builds 2 stacks of release out of Hide for your fast Energy Transfer. The damage you can put out on one target with TF>ET>AS is crazy.  The assault is light on aoe damage output but you can get that from your armor and Epic pool aoe blasts.

As @GM Crumpet says figuring out your style and where you want to slot things has an impact.  I like to slot the chance to hide ATO on TF for a follow up crit ET.

For the armor all the powers are good take em all.  Its a good mix of resistances, defense, healing, regen and absorbs intertwined with the best offensive armor.

Thank you for your helpful advice.  I’m close to 50 now and I’m about to start slotting IOs.  Can’t wait

Stalkers specialize in offense and I would personally go all out offensively with this combination since both energy melee and bio armor are offensively focused sets. Energy melee in particular is the best single target damage set for stalkers and can do absolutely monstrous amounts of damage. I've not played bio armor on stalkers so there may be more optimal slotting and power picks, but I like to take Adrenal Booster on stalkers to further maximize damage output.

I took Power Crash to offer some more AoE, but if you want to prioritize ST damage then you could swap it for Bone Smasher instead. Additionally if you want more -regen, you can take Barrage (requires Energy Focus to apply the -regen debuff) or swap Energy Punch for Barrage. I don't think Barrage is worth it personally though as you want fast animation powers to build up Assassin's Focus stacks.

thank you for your advice, is it important to attack from behind on a stalker or does it even matter?  This is my current build.  Should i go more towards your build for max dmg?  Sorry still learning Mids.  Dont know how to post the graphics like you did.
