Dual Blades/Psionic Armor??

I made this toon wanting to try out Psi armor and choose DB for my primary. I'm only lvl12 so far and I'm finding DB to be disappointing in damage output. Naturally nothing slotted out yet and just wondering does DB get better? The one thing I've notice looking at DB builds is that everyone seems to take nimble slash and I skipped it. Is nimble slash really that necessary of a power to take?

Slotting and use of Blinding Feint, as well as the Sweep/Empower combos will help, greatly. IIRC, Nimble slash is part of both of those.

Dual Blades comes online late with lots of recharge to help stack Blinding Feint.  Sweeping strike is the gem of the set, a cone that does the damage of a ST attack.

It's one of the best damage sets.  Start using Empower, until you can use Blinding Feint > Attack Vitals Combo > Repeat, after that, you use a non combo set of attacks (need sets and Epic Pool attack) which relies on Blinding Feint > Alabating Strike > Sweeping Strike > Alabating Strike > Epic or BF > AS > SS > Epic or Nimble Strike (if Epic isn't recharged).

 

You'll also generally be using Procs too.

Thanks for all the advice I really appreciate it. However after respecting I still was not happing with it. So rerolled the toon with ninja as their secondary and I'm liking it a hole lot better.

Ninjitsu has a great toolbox/toybox to play with and being a defense-based set, it's better suited for Scrappers (Resistance-based armors tend to favor Tanks and Brutes to their higher Res cap). Dual Blades/Ninjitsu was my main and badger for a long, long time. If you need any build help, just say the word.

 

EDIT: I have one of my previous builds for this set at the link below. It's not the most updated version, but it's a very good place to start.
