Fantastic Four: First Steps

The movie is officially out, and I’m curious what those who go to see it think.

Admittedly I don’t plan on seeing this in theaters.

Moviegoing has become so unenjoyable for me (cell phones, chatter, etc) that it has to be something I really really want to see.  This just doesn’t fall into that category.

Trying to find an opp to go see it.

But it's been reviewed as remarkably good compared to recent Marvels. And also a lot more like the Kirby era in both 60s retro-future style... and optimism. The whole grimdark requirement seems to have been set aside.

 

Since I've accidentally spoiled myself reading an article, here's one... sorta... nega-spoiler.

...the one odd bit is this doesn't join directly onto the end of Thunderbolts.

So if you've seen that and were expecting you knew what the ending / tailgag was, there's more to play out before that happens.

I'm going to see it this weekend. I'm a sucker for that populuxe/futurist aesthetic and I'm hearing good buzz about it.
