Especially if the escort NPC doesn't want to go with you. What is the number one way to get a stealthy person to lose any semblance of sneakiness? Have the stealthy person have to escort random person with no stealth training anywhere.

At least then we wouldn't have to stand there and wait for the NPC to figure out how to use stairs or a ramp of all things.
