Everytime I login and try to connect to server it says I've timed out on every server

I'm an old player coming back and for some reason I'm not able to get into a server to even pick a character.

How Old?

Homecoming is a fresh start, so Characters from the Original game or SCoRE server are not available here. If you follow the instructions to install the Homecoming Launcher and create a game account you'll be playing in no time. If you have been on Homecoming before, try Verifying Files  and Checking for updates by clicking the 3 dots. Welcome back.

If using The HC Launcher You may also try rebooting your modem and router, they sometimes need that in order to connect properly.

Good advice. Stuff like you mentioned, @Marine X, is so simple it just doesn’t occur to me. It’s a lot like when I was tech support for a small ISP, people would call and tell me they can’t view web pages anymore. There’s a whole bunch of possible solutions (and causes) for that, but it took 5 cases for me to finally add “Press the power button to turn on your computer” to the troubleshooting list. LOL.

Not getting timed out but rather am getting a "Can't connect to DBserver" message after logging in. Have done cache clear, reboot, and verification. Was working fine Thursday.

As others have said, make sure you have downloaded the launcher, and also that you are logging in with your game account not your forum account. The login name is here https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/ and you can also change the password. I see your account hasn't logged in (successfully) for five years.

That's weird with the account saying not for five years...I've only been playing for the last 2 or 3 after leaving live in 2008. And I've not changed anything regarding firewalls or how I'm using the launcher since I downloaded things about a year before it got the official blessings.  It also doesn't work on either of my two computers, one of which is brand new.  Which is why I'm kinda stumped. lol

 

Edit: Well...tried a router reset, complete deletion and reinstall, new account (now deleted), turning off firewalls & virus protection, on both my brand new (3 weeks off the shelf still at factory defaults) w/ Win 11 and my old machine which is Win 7... and STILL fails to connect to the DBserver. So...I've pretty much given up playing at this point. It's been a fun 2+ year revisit to Paragon but Nemesis seems to have it out for me.

Have you tried connecting to Reunion? It is located in Germany and if there is something blocking your connection as it hops to Homecoming in Canada that may avoid it. If that works you may be able to use a VPN to avoid the issue, worth a try anyway.
