Descriptions associated with Alignment Powers, such as Call to Justice, refer to them as "temporary" powers, but I'm not seeing a defining of that term in this context.  I've looked on the wiki, the power's own description, and into archival forum posts.

Does "temporary" refer to a number of charges (like Day Job powers), a limited amount of in-game time to use the power, or, as I suspect, something else?

It only lasts until you change alignment. Then you wait however long it takes (5 days?) to acquire that new alignments power. If you never change alignment it won't go away. No charges or time limit to it.

Ah, so if I remain indefinitely in the alignment, say Hero, it will keep on working?

Yes you'll be able to use it whenever its recharged.  Each of the 4 alignments have their own static ability, the full hero or villain ones seem best, I especially like the villain one, but you limit the zones you have access to.  If you change alignment you'll gain the new ability instead but not for days.
