I'm curious to learn how players  choose to slot their 50+ characters Energy Aura powers like Sentinel's Energy Aura \ Power Armor, or Brute's Energy Protection and Dampening Field.  I've multiple characters using Energy Aura and would like to improve them.

 

Power Armor only states acceptance of Healing enhancements and Damage Resistant ones.  Energy Protection and Dampening Field only ask for Damage Resistance.  From what I can see, crafted damage resistance sets, as well as specials like Hydra and Hamidon enhancements, all work with other elements, especially endurance reduction.  I currently perceive these as irrelevant and reducing of the effectiveness of damage resistance (and Healing in the Sentinel's power), but I'm opening to learning otherwise, if it can be demonstrated.    Are Enhancement Boosters really my only option if I want to maximize damage resistance and/or healing on these powers?  If you choose to slot other, what is/are the reason(s) if it reduces the maximum effectiveness of damage resistance and healing?

They're very low hanging fruit to slot the +3% defense all uniques. For my EM/EA Brute, I skip Boxing/Tough/Weave, slot the +3% uniques in those, and nab Manuevers rather than Energy Cloak (because I want to see my own darn costume!),  After that, 5 piece Unbreakable Guard, depending how tight I am on slots. I want that +7.5% HP, and I'm a sucker for any +% discount to all endurance cost bonuses.

Energy Aura is a bit tricky to discuss across ATs since there are now 4 different power lineups. EA is primarily a typed-defense set that also provides a modest level of damage resistance. Dampening Field (scrapper/brute/tank) is S/L/E, Energy Protection (scrapper/brute/tank) is E/N/T/P, Kinetic Dampening (stalker/sentinel) is S/L/E/N/T and Power Armor (tank/sentinel) is S/L/F/C/E/N/T/P and +HP. With the exception of energy (which is higher), you don't get more than low teens resistance to any damage type. At ED max you would get to low 20s. On my EA stalker I slot Kinetic Dampening with the two +3% def uniques, the two psi resist IOs (one of which is unique) and two more Aegis pieces (which provides a 3.13% F/C def bonus). Note that stalkers only get one resist auto power. In the case of Power Armor I would slot two 50+5 Heal IOs.
