Screaming Mimi Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Pretty much what the title says: I'd love it if there was a non-chibi head option for the Mini costume power. I think the slightly comedic effect of Mini is great for a lot of toons but some of us just want to make a character that can shrink and stay proportional. Thanks for considering. 1
LightMaster Posted September 10 Posted September 10 That’s something many would agree with, hopefully as two-in-one power purchase (you bought a Mini, you got the proportionally balanced version) as to reduce the need to cash in more Prismatic Aethers for those who purchased the Mini.
srmalloy Posted September 10 Posted September 10 It's personally annoying that there are so many of the "Funko Pop" style mini-pets, when there are others that are properly-proportioned miniature versions of the original; spending the crafting cost on the recipe and getting a hydrocephalic cheap Chinese knockoff is disappointing, and having the 'mini-me' costume power do the same thing is even more so.
ThatGuyCDude Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I think that Mini Mode has a big head not out of deliberate design but because it works by setting the body scales to their minimum values (beyond what you can even achieve in the costume editor), and that's the way the head looks at those values. A proportionate head would require a model scale shift, which would probably also mean a model swap based on how the game seems to work. So, it's probably in the same category as custom henchmen models; some groundwork needs to be in place to allow a player-crafted costume to be loaded during a model swap. If it were implemented, specifying which behavior to use through the Tailor would probably be the clearest and most consistent implementation, rather than two separate hologram powers. *shrug*
Azari Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yes non-bobble head mini mode would be great for færie and alien type characters.

Sounds right. A request/suggestion for something else can still be valid even if not currently supported. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) I wasn't trying to clobber the suggestion; rather I wanted to puzzle out the technical hurdles that might be in the way right now. Knowing the hurdles can help plan a way to jump them. 2

And if you could get a properly-proportioned mini-mode, then it should be possible to do the same thing with the various mini-pets that use the same mechanism so you get normally-proportioned figures instead of Funko Pop knockoffs. I realize that using the existing body scale functions were the easy way to implement the mini-pets, which is why the pets that don't have a human rig (Kronos, GWW, etc., and even U'kon G'rai and Adamastor) look like shrunken versions of their full-size model and the others look like people with disproportionate dwarfism, but these are non-combat pets; they don't need rigging for a full range of animations.
