Unrecognized Posted Tuesday at 09:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:54 PM Been trying to update my AE mission group for the new Stuff, to see if it could fix the Inf drops, but I cannot. Every time I try loading in AE editor to modify my custom group the Game crashes.
ZamuelNow Posted Tuesday at 11:24 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:24 PM Looks like the patch broke this for a lot of people. Earlier I made other edits fine but crashed to desktop when I attempted to edit a custom group. SirArthurIV Posted Wednesday at 12:40 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:40 AM I can create new custom groups of in-game enemes, but I cannot add custom entities to them.
Chris24601 Posted Friday at 02:21 AM Posted Friday at 02:21 AM I've had the same crash. Staying away from building AE missions until this gets addressed.
dmcarden2012 Posted Saturday at 12:14 AM Posted Saturday at 12:14 AM Opened up another bug report just like this..same as above, cannot edit a group with custom entities..sigh.. how do you know they have it near resolution?

You just report the bugs with as much data as possible to help in resolving it and then wait for the update that fixes it. Edit: What I said was not entirely true. A person can also keep an eye on the test server to see if resolutions have been implemented there to get a feel for the fixes showing up on the live servers. Edited Saturday at 03:53 AM by Rudra
Terminal Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Also reporting this. I have been submitting fully detailed crash logs every day since I first noticed it. The bug very specifically happens when you attempt to pull up a custom group in the group editor profile. On the custom groups list, if you go to a custom group and click 'edit,' you immediately hard crash to the desktop. If you are in the AE Page Editor, and you click on 'edit custom group' with a custom group selected, you immediately hard crash to desktop. The only way to bypass this is if you click on edit custom group while 'No Group Selected' is the option, which pulls up the group editor profile normally, and you can view all of the critters inside of custom groups on the left-hand side normally. However, the split instant you try to pull up any custom group on the right side, you immediately hard crash to desktop. I was told about this bug initially by somebody else who also noticed it. It has since been confirmed by two other people I know who work with AE frequently. It is very reliably replicated, and the effect is always an instantaneous hard crash to desktop. It is still technically possible to make a custom enemy group without using the custom group editor - you just need to create custom critters and assign their groups manually from their ID section, and primarily that works. However, because you can never save the group on the custom group profile, it will not show up on your hard-drive, leaving you with just the individual critter profiles - which you can then put together in a file in the format necessary for a custom group. Nonetheless, this bug is absolutely deleterious and immensely inconvenient for general purposes of making AE content. If you want to make a custom villain group with custom critters, it is not too much additional work. If you want to make a specific group using pre-existing enemies, with new names and bios under a new name - say if you want to pull a bunch of Diabolique Ghosts and Black Swan Shadows, edit the names and bios and put them in the same group that does not have them displayed as 'Praetorians' - you have to do the same thing, and that is substantially more work. The groups are very nearly everything in AE, so this impacts just about the entire AE process in spite of being very narrowly constrained. It also has a chilling effect. New people opening the AE editor for the first time are not going to have any idea what is happening and are just going to think that using AE causes hard crashes. So I am going to continue submitting new crash reports, as long as I can replicate the issue and pull up the HC Crash Handler, every single day until this is fixed. I make a lot of AE content and this issue has severely impacted my capability to do that. 1
