  1. Can the patron arcs be added to the WST rotation?

A lot of people have to run these things and it's getting monotonous. Would be nice if there was some bonus reward.

They are TF length in regard to number of missions, as well as requiring AV fights, which typically requires teaming.

It would encourage more redside play and vary the redside choices for WST beyond the few options that currently exist.

They could be balanced with blueside specific trials, which don't currently enter the rotation as there is no redside counterpart.

  2. The SO enhancement drops and upgrade from maintenance screen are great ideas. I'd like to see this go further by removing TOs entirely and replace with additional influence / infamy gain instead, or increase low level IO recipe / salvage drops.

This system also doesn't diminish the need to visit stores and vendors because you still need to get the SOs you can upgrade anyway.

Speaking of, can you look at the drop rate of various classes of enhancers? Range increase is still considered one of the cornerstone drops and it's practically useless. Meanwhile, endurance mod is a rarer drop when everyone wants those for stamina.

I actually agree with this 100% Just like with ice slick after the 30+ range I really had no use for it. Especially since I have other powers that do KD. This assessment is spot on.

    Madness!

Ice slick is ice control's best power!

  4. Titan Weapons or Large Stick Affinity?

    Sonic Resonance or Sound Affinity?

    Dark Miasma or Smoke Affinity?

    Beast Mastery or Zoological Affinity?

I could go on. The point is you're launching a new set. Giving it a boring affinity name isn't selling it. And if this game ever goes legit you need a creative team leading it that can do better.

I think the new name should have Elec- in it so it follows shorthand naming convention: elec/elec. A simple change like Electrical Conductance (while not the sexiest) is more unique than Affinity and specific to what the set does. It also sounds cooler and fits the naming theme of other sets like Radiation Emmission and Sonic Resonance.

And for the record Darkness Affinity is another terribly boring name. Please change.

Because its not too easy, we who want it easy choose to do so by investing a very high degree into a character and its build to negate the challenge, That is not an accident, it is by design and beloved by likely the majority of the coh playerbase.

Because challenge is easy to find, the idea that their should be challenge for the very top end builds when their power factor is many times greater then a baseline build is the height of absurd selfishness as there is no reason to make content for an extreme minority. When games make the mistake of doing that it bleeds players.

A good example is DDO aka Dungeons and Dragons Online. even though on average only about 5% of their player base every partook of raiding, they kept adding raids, and putting the best loot in them. Creating a huge power divide between raiders and non raiders, and then kept balancing content around the power of those top end raid builds. So now days the game is a ghost town, supported by P2W whales and hard core raid guilds, and if your not into those things expect to play the normal content solo and struggle like no tomorrow if you dont drop the cash.

CoH has always been mainly the game of choice for the casual, the fun time gamer, and amazing enough the RPer, as no other MMO Ive ever played had an active degree of RP to compare with virtue and now everlasting. If people want to play at a level that stressed their builds and tests their gamer reflexes then there are places they can go to do that. I know very few who solo +4X8 council mishes who also willingly go out to the shadow shard to face ruls/wisps/ and storm els in even smaller groups lightly. Any mechanic that actually causes a challenge gets labeled an annoyance by such players and they call to have it nerfed because challenge is fine, for others, just not for their superman.

    But you miss his point:

"...the game just feels kind of "meh" because you get into a team and just faceroll through +4 x 8 mobs like they're butter in a frying pan. It feels like the overall higher survivability of classes in general has devalued debuff mechanics, healers, and tactical game play."

He's already at the max difficulty in the game and it's easy mode. Several types of gameplay are devalued compared to raw DPS.

And he's not the only one who's brought this up over the last few months. But every time it is brought up, the response is a lot of hate and boils down to 'we don't need more challenge, so shut up'.

My caution to you and others is to watch what you ask for. If all those people start leaving, the population will erode and you may end up with a husk.

Strawman that fails to address the point.  Nobody is necessarily asking to be Dr. Doom, nor asking to conform to every possible imagined plot.  They're asking not to be forced in the role of lackey.  The only option you offer if for them to be forced to choose which kind of lackey they're going to be - which misses the point entirely.

Irrelevant.  The key takeaway is the the blueside storyline doesn't force you into a narrow and subservient role.  The writing allows for any number of possibilities even if it doesn't allow for all possibilities.

The problem here isn't some "bizarre leap in expectations", it's that there's a fundamental difference between blueside and redside story lines.

Doesn't every TF place you in subservient role? Positron could save the dam in 30 sec but instead he finds some lackeys looking for influence to do it for him while he stands on a pedestal.

Very minor bugs going on 4 years that aren't totally breaking the game aren't likely to break the game in another 4 years.  Sure try to knock out a couple of bugs here and there with each patch, that's a nice goal.  Just saying I don't see this as a huge priority.

Are you going to answer the question or continue to tell them how unimportant you think it is?

  9. So casual play.

Fire is mainly ranged and so is dark control. So stay back and control, blast, blast, control.

Sorcery works well with that strategy. You can replace your t2 blast with arcane bolt. Use buffs on your pets... enflamed haunt?

Skip .most/all melee attacks. Slot up living shadows to keep groups at distance. Take fire epic pool for more ranged air. Hunt kill skullz
