  1. She could be pretty much anything.  I think the default for a Galactic Federation agent is probably something like a Beam Rifle/Willpower Sentinel.

At the other extreme, I'd consider making her a Demons/Storm Mastermind.  Demon Summoning because I could see her befriending more lost and misunderstood creatures as she did Stitch.  And Storm Summoning because she has an in with Pudge, the fish who controls the weather.

  3. There are many things I love about this game, but one of the biggest draws for me was the endless potential and nigh unlimited supply of player-generated content available via the Mission Architect system.

That was what I missed the most after the original servers closed, so I did some extensive searching to see if a similar system existed in any other games.  I ended up with Star Trek Online and its Foundry system.  I made missions, I played missions, it was great.  Then a few years ago, to much outrage and uproar, they removed the Foundry from the game.  I understood why they did it, but it made me sad.

So I started looking again to see if there were any other games with a system like that in place.  And that search led me here.

(Actually, I've never investigated it in regards to the red side or gold side, so the experience might be different there.  Perhaps someone else reading this can fill us in.)

You can unlock that by finding every exploration badge in any zone.

You can also get the accolade just by spending one hour in Pocket D and unlocking fast travel to there.

  5. You can do a fully pacifist character solo.  It'll just be really boring and take forever.

Start off getting a few levels by finding exploration badges.  Then you can start doing radio/newspaper missions.  Only take missions for stealing things, or that otherwise involve clickies.  About a third of those can be done without fighting.  If combat is required, abandon the mission and try another.

And make sure to autocomplete a mission on cooldown for the free rewards.

So... again, given APPs are there to fill in gaps in a primary/secondary, as mentioned, and Khelds don't really have those gaps existing... what should be in the APPs?

I agree that kheldians aren't really missing anything and don't need access to APPs.  I'd still like them to get that access because I like having more options.

  7. This is like, sixth-hand info, which I would put on basically the same level as unsubstantiated rumor, but I figured I'd share anyway.

Apparently someone in charge of one of the other servers had a conversation with an NCSoft employee who was not involved in the negotiations, but had knowledge of the subject.  This person allegedly confirmed that the talks did take place but later fell through.  (Presumably due to a lack of interest on the part of NCSoft, although that is my own speculation.)

And no one here can tell us of that outcome because NDA.

    I'll use an example:

The level 40 "budget" build.  This would be 100m+ now, if you used the AH to buy the stuff.  There's no way any of you could put that together for anything close to 20m.

Sure you can.  You just can't get them immediately.  The trick is to place a bid for the amount you're willing to pay and then wait for one to be sold to you.  It'll take a while.

That's the tradeoff:. Do you want to save time or inf?

  9. I'm back to doing a variation of that same stoopid project again too!  I was doing my own 'do all the missions at level' attempt before I disappeared and was mostly without internet access for like a year, but my previous attempt was built on an even more stoopider character concept of a toggle proc controller.  I wanted to do all of my damage with toggle auras.  It worked, more or less, but it was soooo slow.  I gave up on it before getting to level 20.

Now I'm going with a Soldier of Arachnos, because I decided that if I'm doing all of the content, I might as well have an exclusive epic arc thrown in.

As one of the individuals in question, I resemble that remark.

Edit: My question is: In consideration of "Similar to the (I believe it is Controller) or even better.", what are you talking about?

Under Power Customization, Controllers can change the color of some of their pets, like the gremlins and imps.  Masterminds cannot, because their customization options are for the act of summoning rather than for the pets themselves.

  11. Now that I am recently returned again, I'd be interested in joining this too, depending on the timing.  I haven't done a dedicated theme team since playing with the Repeat Offenders on live.

  12. I have a lifetime subscription to STO, but I mostly stopped playing after they got rid of the Foundry.

Even when I did play, I never paid much attention to fleets.  I'd just join whatever one I saw recruiting or if I liked the name.  If you're looking for something more particular, and it sounds like you are, I'd recommend trying the STO reddit.

  13. It's more about playstyle than archetypes and powers.  Any character should be able to get to level 50 without ever damaging an enemy, or teaming with players that damage enemies.  As mentioned, you can get some early xp from exploration badges.  If you've got Hide or Stealth, you can do paper/radio missions involving item retrieval.  In my experience, about a third of those can be completed without combat.  If you'd be forced to fight, leave and abandon the mission.

There's also another way:  Auto-complete a mission once every three days and claim your meager rewards.  This is very, very slow, but effective if you don't want to actually play the game.

Every (almost?) zone should have an information kiosk. There's one in Talos directly across the street from the tram.

Edit: My bad... it's on the same side of the street. I was thinking of the merit vending machine. Huh... there's actually two in front of the tram.

Thanks!  I don't know how many hundreds of times I've gone past those terminals and I've never tried clicking on one before.

  15. You're an inspiration!  I'm still crawling through my own attempt at this, currently only at level 12.

Are the statistics like enemies defeated available in game or have you been keeping track separately?

If there isn't, there should be.  I'd probably call it "Committed".  If you finish it, you probably should be... 😉

@Snarky, fantastic work, dude!  A question regarding "every contact":  Are you referring to only one side of Gold, or did you somehow manage to run both Resistance and Loyalist?

It's actually pretty easy to do both Resistance and Loyalist.  You just have to be careful with the order you do them in because some missions will break contacts that are needed for others.

If you start red or blue, you lose the Double-Cross / Undercover options when doing goldside missions.

Maybe you care. Maybe you don't. But those choices vanish if you don't begin gold.

That's the tradeoff.  You lose those if start red or blue.  If you start gold, you lose every mission that isn't part of an arc and doesn't award a badge.  There are a LOT of standalone missions.

Now to be fair, a lot of those missions are terrible, but there are also a lot of good ones.  At least in terms of quantity though, you lose out on a lot more if you start in Praetoria.

  17. I am also going through everything everywhere, although I'm doing it on a controller.  I will second what Snarky said: Don't start in Praetoria.  Everything from Goldside is available in Ouro, but the same is not true for Red and Blue.

As to your bigger question of burnout, I'll just add to chorus saying that a break may be in order.  I played on live from the very beginning, but I only had an active account for like half of the time.  I joined Homecoming as soon as I learned about it, but since then I've already taken like a year off.

The current project of completing everything at level on one character has gotten me the most interested I've been in the game in a very long time.

Personally was not a huge fan of Dr. Graves. And it's not the story, it's more his...personality and the running back and forth from Mercy to Port Oaks to Cap and back to Mercy. Way too much running around. I also wasn't a big fan of the new locations for Kalinda's mission doors and the missing Snake Hunt in the Northern part of Mercy. Not to mention, the mission you used to get to rob the casino that I didn't see my latest time around. I actually liked that mission and now, unless it has been moved, is just not there anymore. Although some of the missions are the same, for me, it's lost the feel it once had. I hate when Devs change stuff like that. Kind of like when they changed the Hollows...was not a fan and never will be.

The casino heist is a newspaper mission now.
