  1. gotcha - thank you! I think I've got all I need now. 😁
  2. Ok, so I like it. Just because I'm wondering - if you had to get rid of something to get flight on the power list, what would be your top consideration? Or is there perhaps another way I could get flight with the normal flying animation?
  3. oh yeah, definitely - I take all the credit... 😋
  4. Quick side question - almost every time I open builds from posts on here, I get the error that the build is from a previous version of Mids. Do you get that when you open mine?
  5. Hahaha! I love that you're tempted now... I was iffy about choking cloud as well, but I kept it in purely because I was getting slightly overwhelmed with the number of other changes - they're good changes, to be clear, I'm just still learning a lot, heh. I'll give this a look and respond more later - thanks for all the insight!
  6. Ok, I'm much more excited about this... lol. @MoonSheep Thoughts? Nurse Radroach Fire+Flight (Radiation Emission - Radiation Blast).mbd
  7. Frankly this build is just what I thought I SHOULD do. So far it seems like I end up in melee pretty often when trying to keep all my debuffs stacked up, so being beefy just made sense in my head. I'm level 12 right now on this toon, though, so grain of salt!😁 I wanna have a plan that's gonna get me into interesting content with this concept that I find hilarious. Seems like you are saying I'll get there, but I may be able to refine things. What do you recommend that I nix in order to pick up Vengeance? I almost think you're recommending a completely skip the fighting tree. Perhaps I could drop that and pick up flying to lean even further into embracing the waterbug (southern nickname for roaches, for those who aren't aware)? EDIT: I just read a bunch of the convo you linked and now I think I get it - it seems you are also recommending I go with fire mastery to get my self-rez so I can pic up the proc-happy Char. Color me intrigued! hmm...
  8. The Nurse will see you now! Build attached... 1st attempt at a Defender and while the theme was originally more of a meme, I've started to really enjoy it and wanna see where this can go! I know the self-revive of Soul Transfer probably sucks, but the idea of a roach not being dead when you were sure it was dead is just too on-point for the concept for me to pass up, haha. Thoughts? Nurse Radroach (Radiation Emission - Radiation Blast).mbd
  9. I found a build that did a lot of what interests me, and edited it a bit to include what I wanted (adding flight and Mu mastery) but I've no idea how to populate the Mu Mastery part in a way that incorporates it effectively. Here's the original post for reasoning on the power choices, if interested: Asmodeus' Chosen Brute (Savage Melee - Fiery Aura).mbd
  10. I still encounter this issue on any AT that uses the AR sheathed or unsheathed. I cannot load a saved costume that has an assault rifle without it throwing an error. The costume displays just fine, I think the problem has to do with the saved file not including the weapon. I have tried this with several different ARs. Example file attached. MT 001.costume
  11. This is awesome - thank you! I'll dig into this more later on.
  12. Please see attached - and please be gentle, it's my 1st Corrupter and I grabbed pieces of other builds without being certain why I'd choose what I chose except that the effects looked really fun. Thermanertia - Corruptor (Ice Blast - Kinetics).mbd
  13. Translation in my head: stuff you'll potentially do if you love your character and want to add more to it. 😁
  14. Oh, wow! More layers to dig through, cool! There's a lot more to this game than I realized... I already through it was cool before, haha! Man there are lots of ways to do what I wanna do with this - that's awesome! Now I think I'm leaning into the brute even more, because my main reason for resisting the idea of Savage melee in my head was the lack of element to it. If I can grab something later on that adds the fire damage and so on, then that changes things! Or is that specifically a Sentinel thing?
  15. I've not been here long enough to speak to player count, but I can definitely say that this community deserves to grow. Y'all are great so far! 😁
  16. Well I definitely don't regret asking/sharing! Y'all really make a guy feel welcomed. 😁
  17. You got a laugh out of me with this last bit - I love that the idea seems fun to you. Yeah, I was thinking about that idea, too. Worst case I just drop the toon. Yeah, that's the split I was thinking of between the two as well. I think I'm just gonna go with Ultra's idea and build one of each. Woof, that's definitely an important point! That reduces the chances of that being the power choice I go with, substantially. His flight is a big part of the idea... Yeah, that's an excellent point - I definitely didn't think of that combo, and will give it a look as well. SO THE UPDATED LIST - will likely dabble with each: Brute - Savage Melee/Electric Armor/Fire Mastery | Very low chance of this being chosen, since I want hover and the Aura requires me to be grounded. Brute - Savage Melee/Fire Armor/Mu Mastery | Haven't looked at the powerset yet, but it shows promise. Sentinel - Electrical Blast/Fiery Aura/Fire Mastery | If I wanna focus more on ranged damage (Which I originally thought flight was exclusively chosen for, but I've seen a few melee builds with hover now... The More You Know! *shooting star and piano sounds*).
  18. Cool, good to know. Thank you. Sounds like I need to just look around at builds once I get my head around which one of these I wanna play.
  19. Yes, the concept is king in my intention. While I want him to be as good as I can get him to be, that is within the confines of the concept. He doesn't have to match the concept at level 1 in CoH, though - I'm totally fine with waiting for him to fully coalesce at 50. Currently the character is only level 5 in the Pathfinder game, so he's far from the melee powerhouse he'll be once he's all grown up. So considering how he'll likely be at a higher level, I've narrowed things down to two different options: Brute - Savage Melee/Electric Armor/Fire Mastery | This leans into the melee much more, which fits the theoretical future-state of the character. Sentinel - Electrical Blast/Fiery Aura/Fire Mastery | This has a surprising amount of overlap with his current state, and also seems to line up with taking flight/hover better through my clearly very educated eyes (har-har). So which one of these is the more valid in actual content? If what I've gathered from what I've been reading on these forums is correct, both of these ATs are viable in solo content without much issue, so the question is mainly pointed at group content. Also, so there's no wasted time on the subject: I have absolutely zero interest in PvP.
  20. Can you expand on this, please? Why would fire/dark/elec be an upgrade over elec/dark/fire?
  21. yeah, considering where he'll be once I progress more, the melee builds may make more sense.
  22. I've learned a lot from this thread, and I think I have a much better idea of what I'm gonna look at/decide on. Thank you again, everyone!
  23. Wow! Thanks for all the input, folks! This is great! I'm playing in Pathfinder 1e, and using direct racial hit die progression using the charts and whatnot that are part of base Pathfinder to write it up as a full class. I wrote it up and have been using it for years with only minor adjustments. I'll attach it in case you find it interesting! Extra details below about how becoming chosen happened - spoiler'd so only click if interested: I like this breakdown of powers - that seems very fitting. Playing as a Bronze Dragon.docx
  24. Thank you for the input! I think I'm more looking to lean into the elemental effects I've got going on because of the Hellfire stuff he's been granted and the electric Breath Weapon and the other ranged pew-pews he has. The Hellfire is more of a melee enhancement and the Electricity is mostly ranged right now (eventually he'll grow into having a passive aura of electricity as a Bronze). The more I've been reading, the more I'm leaning toward Sentinel. Because on of the big things dragons get is extremely-keen senses (their Darkvision is second to none, and they also get an ability called "blindsense" - this lets them be aware of objects and creatures near them without any input from the standard 5 senses; including against things like invisibility) and Sentinels are notes as being very perceptive. I have no idea how that plays out in game, though, lol... You may have it on the Lightning/Fire Blaster though, which is what he currently is. Maybe I should be thinking more about playing into the party dynamics of the game instead of worrying about my survivablility in a solo context. Hmm...
