I know I'd love a set that's like Shield Defense, but as a Shield Bubble instead of a shield on the arm. Not only do I like the bubble armor, it'd have both hands free so Kinetic Melee doesn't look so bad and dual wielders could use the set.
I've also said I want a Shield option that's an orbiting particle shield, like Mega Man with Leaf Shield, or Magneto with chunks of scrap metal.

Can I make a minor suggestion, that I've brought up in similar threads before? For red side, you have four villain patrons, but they're all technically part of the same organization, Arachnos (since villain groups usually don't get along). Maybe for the blue side equivalent, make it a patron ORGANIZATION you get in good with? So you'd have Longbow itself as a patron, or Kheldians, or Fredom Phalanx, etc, etc.

I just have one question (which may already be answered by how Fire-based attack sets work): Do the toxic DoTs from multiple attack powers all stack? Does just the strongest/most recent one take priority? How does it work?

Well, folks ARE saying we need a stronger endgame challenge.....

I don't think CoH processes the direction of attacks - only their damage or positional type. You can use a magnetic combat aura to kind of simulate it. What I would like to see is an option where your armor effects only pulse/activate when you either take damage, (for RES toggles), or if you successfully dodge an attack, (for DEF toggles).
True, like if an enemy behind you attacks and your shield powers "block" it, I don't think it makes you turn around. But likewise, if you just have a bunch of shrapnel/WHATEVER floating around you, it'll make you harder to hit.

You know, I've kinda wanted an "Orbiting particle shield" powerset for a while (like Magneto using chunks of metal to block attacks), especially since right now we don't really have an offensive OR defensive set that "pairs" well with the Magnetic aura. Maybe Shield could be made into it? You're using an object to intercept attacks, does it really matter if you're manipulating it with your hands or your mind?
-
Just add a size slider, then make the shield the size of a penny =P
-
I will say, "Cold Domination" for a Defender powerset always bothered me, as it sounds like, you know, a CONTROL set....
Same with how sometimes "manipulation" means a Blaster secondary, other times a Defender primary.

This thread is about visual SFX and not about combat FX.
My point is that when I'm on my Energy Aura Brute, I'd like to have that defense boost for stats, AND be able to see my character, for flavor.....but there's no "No visual FX" option for that power.

Sounds like a minimal fx option.
Plenty of powers have it, but I don't know how many players would actually use this one.
I know I wouldn't. Being transparent when stealthed let me know when I'm actually stealthed.
And, honest, if you want to see your costume you can turn the stealth power off or you can go fight someone ... because you can't stay stealthed while in combat.
Energy Aura has a stealth power that keeps buffing Defense even while in combat.

This is just a small thing. But is there anyway we could get a Single Head Titan Weapon Axe. We have a dual head one but I know my Self and quite a few others would really like this option as a customization.
An Executioner's tool? I can dig it.

What's wrong with Chocolate Sales' Eve? You get to go to bed, knowing tons of chocolate will be available for cheap the next day! 😋

I could see modifying it so that if the caster goes down with Triage Beacon active, it teleports them to the beacon, rezzes them to half HP and no End, consuming the Triage Beacon in the process, and then puts the power on an extended cooldown, likely longer than the other rez powers, because of the additional functionality. It would make for interesting tactical changes in play style -- put the beacon down where it helps the team in a fight, or back somewhere safe so you get evac'ed if you go down?
Interesting idea. What if the Beacon could give a Rez freebie to ANY teammate, and broke immediately afterwards?

Incarnate Judgement attack: Sonic Boom!
No, it doesn't have the character say the words and send a boomerang like energy wave at a foe. More just a targeted AoE that drops a loud boom sound on the targets and the expected Extreme damage and a sonic -Res effect.
IMO we what we really need is more alternate animations for the Judgements we already have, so they fit better aesthetically with multiple powersets with similar damage types. For example, you can punch someone for Energy Damage with Energy Melee or Elec Melee, but the only Energy Judgement is Ionic. It would fit better if it also had an animation option of a giant ball of energy ricocheting off enemies. Similarly, Mighty or Vorpal or something could have an animation that worked for Sonic powersets.

Honestly, most of the Traps set needs to be given the Faraday Cage treatment.

If you take Scirocco as patron and play through his arcs, it shows he is not a villain. Even when he says that is the only fate left to him as he demonstrates at the end of his arcs. Then in the Dark Astoria incarnate arcs, Scirocco further progresses away from Arachnos' bonds. Even Ice Mistral shows a heroic, or at least selfless, side to herself in the incarnate arcs with Scirocco.
I can't say for certain, but it does look like Scirocco and possibly Ice Mistral were going to go hero following their own NPC version of the alignment system. Though equally possible was Ice Mistral simply taking his place as an Arachnos patron.
As for hero side patrons? Yeah, sorry, not gonna speak for the devs. Though to be frank? It makes less for heroes than villains. Red side, the entire story revolves around the character being tested by Arachnos as they make their way up to rivaling Lord Recluse. Destroying the world in the process, but hey, even the heroes destroy the world in one of the blue side arcs. Blue side however, until they introduced the early arcs where you fight alongside the Freedom Phalanx, you are an independent hero not under any group's oversight in any real capacity. Sure, Freedom Corps and by extension Longbow keep tabs on you, but not in a manner like Arachnos. Vanguard tests you, and I suppose you could view them as a patron organization. The Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, and Longbow are all just out there leaving you to your own devices though.
That's just my take on blue side patrons though. And it is very much possible to adjust the story to enable blue side patrons. So take my response with a grain of salt please.
So the Red Side, you're all in the SAME organization, and just pick one PERSON within it to be your patron. What if Blue Side, you pick a specific ORGANIZATION, like Longbow or Freedom Phalanx, to back you up and give you missions/power pools?

Two things:
1: Don't lots of other rez powers either carry a major ally buff, enemy debuff, AoE, or some combination along with them? No one seems to mind about THOSE effects getting paired. Or is it just because they can't be used on living allies?
2: From what I understand, the absolute CORE problem of Empathy is that it's the set beat suited for recovering the team's status when things go BADLY, but hence it doesn't have as much it can do to further improve the team when it's doing WELL. It needs some kind of effect akin to "overhealing," but where the extra healing somehow gets turned into OFFENSIVE buffs rather than defensive ones or just Absorb. Otherwise, if an Emp Defender is in a team where a Time or FF is keeping folks from ever dropping below 95% HP anyway, there just isn't as much they can DO to further improve the team.....

I was thinking a generic energy ball, but more options are always welcome!
Basically for folks who like the power options, but not the theme? I can dig it.

"54 Incarnate street farm, 3 spots left!"
If things like mission/TF "Defeat X enemies " missions were hampered by how close your teammates were, I'd probably be more inclined towards the idea. But it just sounds like it'd end up encouraging nonparticipation.
Maybe set it on a timer based on how recently you WERE within range to earn it? That way if you have two teams across town with a Defender and some DPS each mowing things down, then they're gonna keep refreshing that timer and be able to keep sharing xp....but if someone is out of the current "earning range" for too long, then they're dropped from the long-distance shared xp.

I'm in favor of anything that gives us a better Natural option for Control. However, since a Troller needs to lock down a CROWD quickly, I'd suggest making a Confuse (maybe combined with a Taunt?) A VERY early power, so you can distract enemies before you wade in to mess them all up. Also, as for the Pinata Spin, I think you might have trouble with a custom animation....but IF that is solved, maybe make it so it also applies KD to other enemies near you, like you're swinging the one mob INTO them?

I've said many times before, I want to see Archery reskinned as throwing knives/shuriken, and trick arrow reskinned as trick grenades.

With all the IO bonuses and perma this and perma that, you think there's famine here?
For that particular set, when the clickies are down, perhaps.

I was just thinking a toggle because right now Regen has a lot of powers without much uptime. A clicky that you can still keep up a lot could work. I'm just worried about it ending up "feast or famine."

Think the consensus from those of us who don’t want to completely depart from the cottage rule is to start with debuff resistances and other modest tweaks. No thank you to making the set have fewer clicks.
Wasn't it ORIGINALLY a toggle, though? Meaning the current state WAS a departure from Cottage Rule?

While it would be hard to implement, I always wanted both offensive and defensive sets with that sort of "absorb" mechanic, like Rogue, Sebastian Shaw, etc.
