  1. Well, having done it twice yesterday, I can confirm that Island Rum is indeed downloading Wineskin instead of Wine. Have you found any work-arounds?
  2. So, I finally had the time to sit down and attempt Choake's instructions today. Terminal didn't recognize a few of the uninstall commands for some reason. I went ahead and continued with the reinstall just to see if it would work. It doesn't. Lol. Wine Stable cannot find the cityofheroes.exe file from Terminal either. Any idea as to why this might be happening? I'm running on El Capitan, if that makes any difference. Thanks!
  3. Hi, Choake, thanks so much for putting this together! I'm just now getting around to it, and it's scaring me out of my mind. Anyway, I've discovered that I only have two of the files you say should be saved as backup, Costumes and PowerCust, neither of which have much in them. Does this seem right? I'm surprised about the powers customization, because I typically change the power colors with every build. However, it only shows one character's in the file. And I've only ever saved two costume builds. Would it make just as much sense for me to simply uninstall everything and continue with the directions from there? Thanks again!
  4. Thank you all so much for working hard to keep us all on the game! I've been running the game in safe mode since sometime last fall. Maybe it was in August when a lot of other users had problems with Wine; I'm sorry, but I can't remember exactly. Anyway, with safe mode going away soon, I am still unable to run 32-bit. Computer is a 2011 with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Whenever I attempt to launch, it gives me an error that the program has encountered a problem and has to close. If you need any more information, please let me know. I may need help finding the info though, as I'm not too tech savvy. Macs are supposed to be user friendly, ...right?
  5. Thank you, GM Korvin. I just found the manifest, and it has loaded fine. I also found the original post about deleting safe mode. Can't launch without it, so I hope there's a way to fix it before safe mode is deleted! Thanks, again!
  6. I've been using safe mode on my 2011 Macbook Pro since late fall. With safe mode disabled, I am now unable to launch the game. When I attempt to launch from Island Rum, I receive a program error box. It reads: "The program cityofheroes.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We apologize for the inconvenience." Underneath, it says: "This may be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check the application database for tips about running this application." However, the link for the Application Database is also not working well. Will I be able to run this on my Mac, or do I need to use a PC from now on?
  7. I'm having the exact same problem... I've had to run it in safe mode since about October; I really hope there's a fix for this!
