The "pro" is that it permits a character who would not use technological means of flight to still benefit from something already available in the P2W vendor.

so thats not possible by taking flight huh? you know an actual POWER?   this is silly, not a single compelling reason has been given for this change, I'm out the fanatic desire for more for less is too tiring to deal with

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I disagree that "feature creep" will "kill the game".  You may not be arguing to add features to the game - instead, you are arguing to enforce the status quo.  Neither are inherently bad positions to take, provided you can actually support your position.  If all you have are opinions... well that's not going to make much headway.

that plays both ways, there has been nothing pro this change but opinions either, silly argument to make about it really

It's time-gated in 2 senses of the term;  1. you need to get the inf to buy it, (a relatively small amount, admittedly), and 2. it only lasts about 30 minutes each purchase.  Regardless, the power(s) are already in the game.  Whether using it has the graphical element of a Sky Raider Jetpack, a Goldbricker Jet pack, or, (what's being requested), no jet pack, what's the difference to your game play?

I'm not the one trying to change anything and add feature creep, so it seems silly that I need to justify myself further than I have, which is, I think the continual feature creep from these "quality of life" changes constantly piling up will in my opinion kill the game

So you want to wait for people to putter along to get to the mission? Or try and take down the rikti/arachnos flyer on sub hover speed?  Or not have to deal with the hassle of navigating red side early zones without some dumb jetpack clipping in their face.

It's opposing a minor QOL adjustment to punish people for not playing your way. One something that has ZERO impact you.  And primarily targets roleplayer types.

why so aggressive to people who don't do as you wish? calm down, believe it or not other people are allowed to have opinions, I'm not calling for changes to be made, I'm just saying degrading the systems the game was built around more are a bad idea, you don't need to jump down my throat about it

Makes sense.  Perhaps it could have lower base values and an energy cost about on par with combat jumping's.  That'd mean you'd have to invest pretty heavily to make it a full travel power replacement, but perhaps it could *not* suffer from suppression, as a bit of a counterbalance.

I think you're on the right track there, I suspect it will be a tricky one to balance, but this is definitely a good start

Similar discussions went on for weeks on the pre-snap forums about incarnate leveling. Some people absolutely loved how everyone was forced to team to get anywhere. Any discussion about speeding up the solo path was met with damn near hysteria.

    Guess who's laughing now, #*&$(*#$&(*#&$#?!?!?!

some seedy middle manager in Seoul?

Rogues are varied. In fact Villains (and yes they are bad Bad BAD)  are not one size fits all

Many villains do not set out to be bad just for it’s own sake. Their motivation can sometimes be singular, nearly always pursued  with complete disregard for others and usually a train wreck of tragedy. But that does not mean they set out to be bad. Some are straight up seeking world domination and/or destruction it is true

Rogues are even more complex than villains. Generally not bent on world destruction or even a single minded focus that gets people killed en masse. Yet they are everything from armed robbers who will shoot guards to scientists seeking to create the perfect X without care for environmental impacts

Heros...yeah  Blue Shield beating down a teen and creating Clockwork King?

Vigilantes. That is a fun take on villains. Is Dexter a Vigilante or a Villain?

    the conversation is deep waters

this is also a comic game, so the complexity is skipped by the genre 😛

Dexter is a Villain, he doesn't kill for the greater good (Vigilante) he kills other villains to hide his own crimes, I will go out on a bit of a limb and claim the Punisher is NOT a vigilante, I would characterise him as a rogue at best, bordering on villain, he kills not (again) for the greater good, but revenge 😄

TP would be great if you could put an IO in it that got rid of that dumb hover hang time

Then you could do the whole Nightcrawler thing with binds.

actually considering why that's there, I think being able to turn it off at Null would be appropriate

    Current formats:

    Examples: Concealment, Leadership, Medicine, Presence,

    Requirements:

    1. Lvl 4 no powers
    2. Lvl 4 no powers
    3. Lvl 14 one power
    4. Lvl 14 two powers
    5. Lvl 14 two powers

    Examples: Flight, Leaping, Speed, Teleportation

    Requirements:

    1. Lvl 4 no powers
    2. Lvl 4 no powers
    3. Lvl 4 no powers
    4. Lvl 14 two powers
    5. Lvl 14 two powers

    Examples: Fighting

    Requirements:

    1. Lvl 4 no powers
    2. Lvl 4 no powers
    3. Lvl 14 one power
    4. Lvl 14 one power
    5. Lvl 14 two powers

    Examples: Force of Will, Sorcery

    Requirements:

    1. Lvl 4 no powers
    2. Lvl 4 no powers
    3. Lvl 4 no powers
    4. Lvl 14 two powers
    5. Lvl 20 two powers

So you have four styles: Support, Travel, Fighting, and Origins. Unfortunately, this leads to an uneven feel to the pool power sets. My preference would be to convert all the power pool sets to the same distribution:

    1. Lvl 4 no powers
    2. Lvl 4 no powers
    3. Lvl 4 no powers
    4. Lvl 14 one powers
    5. Lvl 20 two powers

Some of the pool power set orders may need to change and T5 powers may need to up their game, and also TP needs a full-on make-over. But that being said, I think that small adjustment could lead to a better overall experience.

I don't think there would be any issue changing pool powers like this, again, balance checking would be needed, but I think the idea is good

Thank you all for your comments 😊. I am new to the game so I appreciate feedback from more experienced player. When I wrote down that proposal I saw them more as QoL than Power creep. My understanding, and I may be wrong, is that we are already at a point where a properly build character can steamroll everything so freeing a couple of slots or making a toogle auto won't change that too much. Not that my proposal would ever be implemented in the game. 😝

the super easy mode only comes in once you get IO set enhancements and Incarnate powers, your proposal will be affecting from level 4 onward effectively shifting the power creep downwards to their (though only slightly, but it's a start) plus power slots are rarely the limitation anymore now we have inherent fitness, enhancement slots are and most pool powers never get extra slots, and some of us LIKE click on demand powers, they are ways to build tactics around,  hope this helps explain why I am so against your proposal
