Oh, you're fine then. Use your mezzes liberally and you can tank the moon.

    Thanks 🙂

PS I used your guide as a basis for choosing how I want to play this char 😛 So thanks. for a long time I only wanted to do Ranged on it, but then I realized that part of the rotations I like in my Doms can be used here (with a decent amount of  melee attacks to fill in gaps despite having slightly less than yours),  after reading the guide 😛 Figured it made sense to use the # of attacks I was comfortable with (and I'm really happy with all the actual abilities, just slotting was causing me headaches :))

What's your down time on Mind Link? If you can get that permament or nearly permanent, you'll be fine. I tank on my fortunata with about 30 seconds downtime on Mind Link.

If not, try to reclaim some of the slots in Health and Stamina to put into other powers for incremental defence boosts. Remember that top-level teams often give you another 5-10% defence and you can run TT:Vengeance if you're happy to recycle your allies into Defence bonuses from time to time.

You also get sliding resistances based on health so your 16% smashing resistance goes up to about 40% at half health.

Also, remember that hit points, defence and resistance are only one way of preventing damage: use your holds and confuses. Controllers have been tanking for longer than brutes have and fortunatas take can little from both schools of tanking to be very, very sturdy.

The recharge in mids says 80.53 with a duration of 90, though that might be with hasten (which the total recharge is only 198.8 without hasten, 268.8% with)

  3. This is just adjusting based on the slot build I did in game (I accidentally added an extra slot to TK blast over Psi tornado, but not sure if it matters at 3 vs 4... if so, I'll change it - let me know if there's a better way to slot that... I really would like tornado to feel effective... 😛

ANd I am REALLY bad at figuring out ways to be tanky, so if anything obvious to make it more tanky without gutting the recharge horribly that'd be great!

  4. My widow is already 50, so I'm just optimizing. Not big into TFs/scaling down, so order is not a HUGE deal breaker for me! Just trying to get the build together as best I can.. 🙂

I considered the +build up in Tactics. Probably will do that 🙂

  6. Hello

I finally did a fortunate after wanting one since they were introduced... but need help on a build, if anyone could... I've read other posts and took some here some there... but I may have totally missed the mark, as I don't know what recharge I need to hit for good things, or what defense %s (or how to see them in mids) etc to soft cap... Inf isn't an issue so no worries about anything like that, if there is a better purple set etc...

I'm comfortable with the number of (actual) attacks I put here, as it fits for the way I like to use buttons - adding anymore means it won't get used as much because I only really leave 8 slots for attacks in my muscle memory - excluding nukes like Wail.

    Help is appreciated.

That's disappointing to hear. I can throw fairly unlimited funds at the project so I might be able to work around the problem?

Oh for sure. That's just ungeared/no incarnates, etc. And heat loss with recharge is pretty beastly at solving end problems

I usually use set IOs in the pets that include End Reduction, since many tiers will drain their own Endurance. So this also helps with summons costs. And I shut off toggles like Maneuvers if I'm going to do a full summons at the start of a mission or in such situations. So I can't recall seeing any of my MMs drop their End bar like that with a full set of summons. Actually, the Demons and the Robots end up full or nearly full after doing everything. That's because Demons summons are so darn slow, and because the Robots follows up with the EA buffs that include a +Endurance at the end. But, for whatever reasons, I don't crash the bar like that on a full summons set.

Also, "balanced around SO-level enhancements" DOES mean Endurance problems for almost everybody. I can tell you, my Stalker, who DOES use sets, and Panacea, and Numina, etc... had to take breaks every few fights well into the 30s. That's with using sets and special IOs. If I didn't use those, I can definitely see the problems continuing into the 40s, or else having to slot a lot of End Reduction into the attacks. "Balanced around SOs" doesn't mean "no endurance problems when fully slotted out with SOs", because characters were originally intended to HAVE endurance problems. I can recall how happy teams were to see Empathy and Kinetics sets, and it wasn't so much for the Defense or +Recharge (granted, Fulcrum Shift...). It was mostly for the "Yay, now I have no Endurance problems for a while". This WAS life on SOs for everyone, not only MMs.

Not disagreeing - as of late I have a habit for grinding a character to level 40 in a single AE farm and then using the 40 million from that farm to gear it up with lv30/35 IOs + the4 slots for health/stamina with Numinas/performance shifter etc  - just to test out different specs before investing and they all have end problems (well, less a few of my stalkers)

They all don't end up with a zero end bar though (except that darn /cold corruptor with fog lol) just from existing 😛

  9. 14 hours ago, StrikerFox said:

I rarely ever find endurance being an issue on an MM. My only MM that had a problem was /Storm but was able to fix it with IOs/slotting. And the only reason it had an issue is because Gale is kept on auto, firing every 3 seconds. Otherwise it would have been fine.

Powers like Gang War and Hell on Earth shouldn't be a significant factor. The average Demon/Thug builds, GW/HoE will have about 160s downtime, with a cost of 10ish endurance to cast. They're not spammable powers and they're end use works out to around 0.06 e/s. Which is less end than Combat Jump. A +2.5% recovery, IO set bonus would probably cover their cost.

Oh come on. No problems at all? I think it's just an annoyingly frustrating part of the game that doesn't really need to be THIS bad.

The first end bar is endurance after casting all zombies + the 2 buffs

The 2nd is after 2 minutes of just standing there (to take these screenshots) where the end is with toggles.

The 3rd is after 4 minutes of just standing there (to take these screenshots) where the end is with toggles... still not 100%. And that's without doing anything - summoning, attacks, traveling, etc. Just standing around...

Granted, this is level 41 with 3x lv35 IOs slotted into end for stam/dispersion/disruption - but if the gameplay was supposed to be balanced around SO-level enhancements, this isn't a fun time lol.

  10. Just skip sonic repulsion. It sounds good on paper. It's really good early on to make you feel like you're doing something helpful. But it annoys everyone, isn't as effective as it might seem, and just clutters your screen with misses and end drain.

  11. Thinking of revisiting this -- I like my Grav/Savage (teleporting fairy from a different dimension thing!), but still drawn (get it-- redraw.... nah nvm) to thorns and elec...

Anybody have a build or can help make one? The last one I ended up making didn't feel very good (especially compared to the grav/savage just due to its pure speed/damage playstyle).

the build I had before was REALLY bad on survivability, but i'm not quite sure how to get good survivability+permadom/hasten fit into a build... expensive isn't a problem (since I spent 1billion before on a super bad build lol).

I would like for endurance to not be a major concern, but whatever works. I think the character already has Agility core and preemptive maxed out, but whatever works.  Help 🙂

I tested them a long time ago on test and found some end problems, but the damage was stellar. Then I got distracted by savage melee on brutes and stalkers plus some other games. I'm pretty sure I have the endurance issues all sorted with the build I have figured out and the defender version seems like the way to go unless you are using ageless and even then it is close. So, yeah I'm finally leveling it not on test. Just doing the defender version though as the numbers I've worked out seem superior.

Don't miss anything from /cold? I always wonder how useful Heat Loss is compared to what you give up from Storm (Tornado/Lightning Storm)… but I've never used heat loss nor had anyone use it in a group lol

As others have said in this thread, a lot of power set choices seem to be driven by theme.  What theme would be served by the epic ATs?  They have their own fixed back-stories.

Not to resurrect this, but I have to question this -- if this were true, we would see both primary/secondaries of a similar theme of similar popularity. Sonic blast and Sonic shields wouldn't be on such opposite ends of the spectrum (aside from 'debuff themes'). We also know people will mold their theme if it is powerful enough - which I agree, it's hard to bend fortunatas. etc... however, my fortunate is a 'blood bender', so there are some thematic opportunities.

Works for me ❤️ Thank you *I was hoping you'd come to my rescue, as always darkir)

  15. To clarify here - that was 2 separate issues lol

    1. I would move 1 slot into the last power to get the extra 3.5% ranged defense, I think.

    2. What can I do to optimize this build a bit better to get similar survivability/better survivability/powers (and no, I wont drop soothing aura - it's just a concept/fave power of mine)

  16. Hi, hoping someone can help me with a build here. I KNOW this can be made more efficient, but I can't seem to get what I need right...

UNRELATED TO THE ABOVE: II can't seem to get it to let me put slots regardless of skill placement (like when you respec) - so a superfluous slot would be moved to temp invulnerability to get the extra ranged def. (which I think is my main goal lol?)

Your skipping list is like a list of things you should take.

Half of them are not worth taking but the rest should be.

    45% ranged def, 72% S/L 40% Nrg resist, 143% rech

I bet you'll still complain i took propel and crushing field 😛

    Haha

I'm okay with Crushing Field. even after all the cast time buffs of propel tho, It just feels so clunky. Maybe i'll give it a go again at your behest... 😛

Still not 100% sold on blood craze, but I'll still do it. Just for you.

Not sure I understand the efficiency here tho:

    Level 2: Stamina -- EndMod-I(A), EndMod-I(25), EndMod-I(25), PrfShf-End%(48)

Thanks for the build overall tho! 🙂 🙂
