    Shut. Up.

Please promise me you’re donating your brain to science so we can all somehow understand one day how you think?

  2. A point of passion for me in my life is diversity and inclusion--I don't feel like anyone should be othered for something they have no control over. As such, I strive to find ways to represent a variety of characters with diverse backgrounds in this game, including persons with disabilities.

Maybe this is overshare, but I grew up with a brother with cerebral palsy who passed away. He's my personal IRL hero and taught me so much about empathy, gratitude, positivity, and hard work.

My main toon, Helen Killer, is not just a cheeky or irreverent name play--far from it. People with disabilities can (and should) be superheroes and supervillains, too. I love when their superpowers originate because of their disabilities, rather than despite them 🙂

To that end, I keep trying to come up with creative depictions of more characters with disabilities (I know it would require so much work, but a wheelchair option would send me over the moon, as it would mean I could finally make a character honoring my brother. Maybe one day!).

Any who, below is my attempt at another disabled character, Dawn Syndrome.

    Dawn Syndrome (Human Peacebringer)

Dawn Sommers was born extra special--specifically, with an additional chromosome 21. Diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome, Dawn has been used to people underestimating her for most of her life. What her doctors and family didn't realize is that her genetic mutation actually also bestowed her with another special gift: the ability to manipulate the sun and the energy of light with heavenly brilliance. As she honed her powers over time, she took to the streets to be a bastion of hope and protection for others with special needs, safeguarding them from bullies and helping them achieve equity in their lives.

Here's one I played in street clothes (with changing pink or blue hair as cotton candy colors) through the 20s and didn't actually create a tights costume until level 34... and then did the alternate with colors reversed just because.

I’ve been noodling on a candy/confectionary inspired toon. This is helpful. Thank you for sharing!

  4. Apparently, I'm on a green kick as of late?

I had thought about entering him into the "Color Theory" contest, but was worried he had too many accent colors...

  5. Tried to challenge myself to find ways to creatively use less commonly used colors... like, well, puke green.

And thus, Emetic (Poison/Radiation Defender) was born.

    e·met·ic
    /əˈmedik/
    1. adjective: (of a substance) causing vomiting.
    2. noun: a medicine or other substance which causes vomiting.

  6. So many amazing costumes! I love the creativity these contests unlock. So many of my favorite toons originated from these contests!

Would there ever be opportunity for the community to be a part of the contest themes? It would be great to get the chance to suggest or vote on theme selection.

I don’t know if they happened before I started playing again, but it would be so fun to do “It Came From Outer Space” or “Under the Sea”.

A black superhero theme for February, a women’s theme for March, and a pride theme for June would also be cool inclusive, celebratory, and timely themes.

Great point! Totally open to other languages and have done so for other toons. For some reason hadn’t thought of it for this concept, but will consider. Thanks for the suggestion 😊

Here's Colour Blind (NRG/Kin Corr) a super who absorbs colors from the surrounding environment and converts them into energy blasts. Teams hate him for his knockback, citizens hate him for turning the city to grayscale. The painters union loves him though!

I thought about doing this (but with a red+green take) for the recent monochromatic costume contest. If you’re Excelsior, I was shut down to see both spelling variations of color were taken for that name! 😂

  9. @Mystic Amethyst global on live

Mystic Amethyst, Patamon Cougar, Friday Fever, Pressure Point, and Marie Jane are just a few of the toons I can think of off the top of my head.

edit: if any of the crew I used to regularly roll with sees this, plz send me a note! 🙂 Garnet Dragon, Twilight, Spirit of Nyt, Spirit of Dark... would be great to reconnect.

  10. Narwail (Water/Sonic Corruptor)

A marine biologist studying wildlife in the Arctic Circle, Dr. Wilde's academic research came to an abrupt end when his vessel was overtaken by rogue Russian ecoterrorists. The Russians performed gruesome and torturous experimentations on Dr. Wilde, amalgamating his DNA with that of a narwhal. With his newfound super powers, Dr. Wilde was able to miraculously escape the clutches of the Russians with his life and swim ashore to safety--and now he vows to echolocate his way to revenge on his tormentors.

LOVE this. Also love the idea of a genderless character.

TBH, I’m surprised we can’t change our gender/body type when visiting the costume creator. I’d love to create a trans character as part of a progressive storyline.

This is super helpful to cross-reference, thank you for sharing! I always forget about HO's... probably some slot saving I can do here where some of the set bonuses I'm getting on some of the frankenslotting isn't worth it and the HO slotting is superior.

Any reason for Superior Gauntlet v. Might in Savage Strike?

Preventive Medicine Proc` isn't something I thought was a "must-have" slot, but in reading up on it, it sounds like it procs pretty frequently. Whoopsies! Should I be slotting this on most characters?

So I'm clear... all the damage procs you're slotting are straight up better DPS than damage enhancements (and superior to the set bonus for Superior Might)? Is that a function primarily of the attacks being AoE's so when they proc it's more significant? I'm still trying to wrap my head around when to proc and when not to...

That is a pretty compelling reason to go Musculature, too, if I'm understanding correctly (i.e... you can free up some of the pre-ED damage slots for the procs to let more of the Musculature damage buff push through before diminishing returns).

After we got weapon customization and Ouroboros, I combined the two to create a different kind of time traveler... one who uses temporal tech to trade places with her ancestors (and a few descendants) to not only justify various different swords but entirely new individuals with each costume change.  Although she has a sword of her own, they fight the battles she can't... or maybe battles they might be better suited for.

Um. Obsessed with this. Didn’t think anyone could win this game but pretty sure you just did.

Excuse me while I, uh, HEAVILY “borrow” from this concept for another weapon set.
