... you haven't paid attention to badgers, have you. 🙂

But.. yeah, I pretty much see a month's worth of "Mary farms" being the main result of this.

Except that from the moment it says "Once the Victor" to the moment it says "Ten Times the Victor" to the moment it theoretically says "One Hundred Times the Victor", the badge count will always be exactly one. It's not even badge hoarding, just kill-count perfectionism which would cause a player to be so determined to reach one hundred, another reason I figure some (cool) players will just cold quit at a landmark number like 69 or double 7's or maybe their birth year or whatever. Their choice. It's only ever a count of one badge.

  2. Just wondering which build pieces tend to be implemented the most as exterior walls? I'd like to have a walk up approach to my base but it seems, to me, that the selection is limited, when yet I've seen wonders and marvels from more seasoned builders.

Dumb question: would that track how often you earned 10 times the victor or just how often you defeated her?

Edit: And would you have to complete the TF to get it or could you just defeat her 10 times, bail, start a new TF, defeat her 10 times, bail, and so on until you get it? (I've witnessed players bail on our Katie Hannons after we defeated her the 10th time and they got their 10 Times The Victor badge. Not a common occurrence, but very frustrating when it happens.)

I can imagine that someone who might have hit the hospital has probably done this to get the ones they missed out on.

I guess now I can anticipate that certain groups might declare that they were only farming the first mission (although that would be really petty since it's a badge that replaces itself).

  4. Keep the Mary MacComber kill counter going to a hundred.

Some folks may wonder why players might Ouro out at 69 never setting foot in the first map again, but it'd be nice to show that not only have you done the Katie Hannon TF, you're a repeat customer.

As this badge merely replaces itself over and over, it really just acts like a ticker. And One Hundred Times sounds much more dramatic (ten times more, even).

Countdown to the obvious one-upmanship of "One Thousand Times the Victor" and beyond, but c'mon now, you know that's excessive.

That is a serviceable version of the original idea.  Sorry about my deluge of negativity in pointing out that AT locked badges wouldnt be received well.  I had hoped it would inspire you to rework your idea into something more universally available,  not ruin your week.

Hey I'm not gonna get angry at the weather(person) because their forecast was accurate.

  6. The whole highfalutin revised idea, to appease the bloodthirsty masses:

Theme team badges awarded to a team of 7 or 8 matching ATs who complete a TF/SF

Oddball 8th spot also gets badge: Fly On the Wall - "Maybe if I stay real still nobody will notice..."

Overall event badge for 7 matching ATs: Bird of a Feather

A team of 8 matching ATs is awarded the Unified badge, credit to Greycat.

AT specific badges, which again will also be awarded to the 8th unmatching spot, because you gotta catch 'em all under threat of death to the guy who dared think up such a thing:

Tier 1: too good not to use:

    Defender - The Best Offense

    Controllers - Control Freak

    Brute - Et Tu

Arachnos Soldier/Widow (probably easiest to put epic AT's together) - Arachnophilia (we already have an Arachnophobia badge so let's counter that)

    Tier 2: Kinda iffy

    Tanker - Tanks A Lot

Mastermind - Stampede / Stampede Participant

    Dominator - Absolute Dominion

Warshade/Peace bringer - Squid Squad / It Came From SPACE!

Blaster - Had A Blast (naming seems pretty uninspired but who else are you gonna get this badge from?)

Tier 3: Could use some workshopping:

Sentinel - Keep Away (because nearly everyone should be fighting at range)

    Scrapper - Hack and Slash

Corruptor - Irredeemable (with that much corrupting going on...)

Stalker - A Whole Lotta Nothin' (in reference to a group of people being invis, not meant as a knock)

Ideally most of the badge titles would sound like good names for a thematic SG.

The descriptions of each would read either "You participated in an outing of all-_______s" or "You dropped in on a gathering of all _______s" (those blank spaces are for ATs not rude words!)

And after all that? You can even get a friggin' accolade!

Didn't Get the Memo - "Everyone else was on the same page, but time and time again you stood out like a sore thumb."

AM I SAFE TO IMAGINE THIS IMAGINARY THING NOW WITHOUT STEPPING ON ANY TOES? *mutters* yelling at me like I locked you in to praetoria for 20 levels, yeesh...

I 'love' how when anyone disagrees with a suggestion, it is because they 'hate fun'. It's never because of any of the reasons actually given, it is always because anyone who disagrees obviously hates fun.

I dunno, speaking from the perspective of someone who was told I shouldn't bother imagining something because it wouldn't be fair to other people, I think I can at least testify that the experience has not been fun.

I made this initial post thinking about how fun all-_____ teams are, and how it would be fun to commemorate that per-AT but the response was overwhelmingly "No! Gimme everything! Me me me me me!" about an imaginary hypothetical thing. Kind of a buzzkill.

Never mind how easy it would be merely to suggest that maybe the badge gets triggered with a team size of 7 same-AT toons, awarding the badge to all, including an oddball 8th. This is an imaginary thing right now, there's no reason to bring all the baggage of previous game frustrations. It's called workshopping.

At least with alignments, you can switch the character to the alignment you want to get the badge title you want. However, you cannot switch your character to a different AT ever.

My objective with the naming of the badges I suggested was to pick things which related specifically to the AT of the toon who participated, like "Et Tu" for Brutes

It would be a way to celebrate the powerset of that character in a way that wouldn't be appropriate otherwise.

The VIP/Destined One/Praetoria's Son/Daughter badges are already unchangeable and set in stone on character creation, this would be follow their lead.

I suppose if the badge had a boring title like "All-Defender-Squad" (where "defender" swaps out for whatever AT) that would be one way to solve the problem, but it would make it boring.

But since everyone ITT hates fun so much, if we HAD to keep it simple and have one-badge-for-all I would nominate "Bird of a Feather"

Also maybe a badge for a single deviating character on a team of 7 otherwise matched powersets that would be "Fly On the Wall"

Main issue with the alignment stuff is that Praetorians do in fact get different titles. I was annoyed to realize my "Immortal Burk" character could never wear the "Immortal" badge title since he started as a Praetorian.

That looks like it's a badge for commutative damage, why on earth would that be alignment locked?

EDIT: Oh, I looked again, and it simply has a different title, which, yeah, locked to Praetorians. Somehow didn't see that on the page I looked at last night.

  9. I've suspected this for a while, but the Chain Gun temp power looks like it is meant to have a cone AOE but is only set to a single target.

I know that when I've used it in combat it always seems like it's only hitting one target, so then maybe I thought it just wasn't that good, but the description tab says it should affect a group, and the emblem in the power tray depicts cone damage, so I would LOVE to see this rectified.

It always has the appearance of a severe, extreme attack but to see it only hitting one target always wound up feeling so lame.

    ChainGun.jpg

Edit: I went back in to screenshot the description and I swear it said something else 10 minutes ago. STILL THE EMBLEM SHOWS CONE AND I'M STICKING WITH THAT

There are different names for some of them, yes.  I'm guessing you haven't yet locked a toon to an alignment because you want to keep that badge as part of their title?

I'm not against the addition of the badge, I'm against the fact that the granted title will be different based on what AT I'm on.

But that's exactly how the titles on alignment badges work. For example

    Task Force Abandoner Badge

This badge displays different names, depending on a character's current alignment.

    • Task Force Abandoner on villains and rogues
    • Task Force Commander on heroes and vigilantes

The badgers should be along shortly to point out that locking badges by AT will make it impossible to get every badge on a character.

A single badge with a single name might make the cut but badges by AT probably never would.

There are already badges which display differently dependent on alignment, this would effectively operate the same way. It's not like any one player will have the advantage to collect a second version of the same badge which is not available to other players for any reason.

The deluge of negativity to the suggestion of a badge was quite unexpected. It would just be a badge.

  12. How many times has this been requested?

There are a number of emotes I'm aware of for AE that I would love to incorporate in my regular play.

The ones that come to mind are military themed. There's gun cleaning, marching and drill running that I think would add a lot to various soldier types and MM pets.

I'm sure there are others which folks are itching for.

And of course barfing. But I've always figured that was locked for a reason.

  13. Would love to see a badge to commemorate running a complete TF in a team of 8 of the same AT's

There would have to be some kind of detection at TF completion for character count and types, which seems like it would require some programming but not be all that impossible. I would probably limit it to full TF runs, not Ouro or AE's which could be single missions.

Of course each badge per AT would require a different name, I have a few suggestions:

Tier 1: too good not to use:
    Defender - The Best Offense

    Controllers - Control Freak

    Brute - Et Tu

    Tier 2: Kinda iffy

    Tanker - Tanks A Lot

Mastermind - Stampede / Stampede Participant

    Dominator - Absolute Dominion

Arachnos Soldier/Widow (probably easiest to put epic AT's together) - Arachnophiliac

Tier 3: Could use some workshopping:

    Blaster

    Sentinel

    Scrapper

    Corruptor

    Stalker

    Warshade/Peacebringer

So how crazy am I talking, would each badge get individual artwork? Might be too much effort, but seems like a fun project.

I imagine some folks would be happy to show off their thematic unity with some of these.

  14. Yeah we can disable EXP but that's just no fun.

Seems we could have exp rate reducers just as easily as boosters. Set them to 0.5 or 0.25 and enjoy the slow trickle.

Maybe we could even get one set to Classic EXP as it was awarded on live, for the purists.

    Make "Grats" mean something again!

  15. I would love it if the glass floor was two-sided.

As it is, it is invisible on one side, and I have to use a second one flipped around to have a top and a bottom piece. All I wish for is a simple copy from top to bottom.

There are probably many other pieces this applies to but this is one that I have worked with recently.

  16. It's recently dawned on me how few low-level hero missions are actually accessible via the Ouro portal, yet it seems like there are dozens of contacts in the first 15 level range. It would be nice to bundle some of the random missions together by theme (villain groups from the same contact, for example) and maybe slap 5 merits on them and call it a flashback. As it is, practically nothing in the early level flashbacks sends us in to King's Row or Perez Park, probably making more than a few of us wonder what those zones were ever for.

An alternate idea I've dreamed of for a while would be a Level Scaling system where a contact in Ouro would set your active level to anything you choose which you already surpassed (maybe with a 24hr cooldown). That way you could access contacts who would no longer talk to you and accrue exp without outleveling missions. I think all of us want to have a 50 build even if we still want to enjoy lower level missions.

  17. I love that little guy.
Up until now, I always 6-slotted Singularity with a pet-set-enhancment of some sort, but got to wondering, does that really play to it's greatest strengths?

So I tried 6 slotting it with the controller set Overpowering Pressence, particularly because I was curious about the Chance for Energy Font proc.

I wondered if, in effect, my pet would then be making it's own pets!

The main question I have in relation to this enhancement is how it triggers, especially because after a few days I haven't noticed it. I was hoping it would have a chance to trigger with all of Singularity's attacks, but am now wondering if it is only per the times I activate whichever power it is on (in this case summoning Singularity which is generally a one-and-done situation)?
    Some clarification would be appreciated!

Secondly, how 'BOUT slotting Singularity? What are some of the best combos to enhance all of it's many strengths? I wouldn't mind 'frankenslotting' if it enhances multiple aspects of that beautiful glowing orb!

  18. PART 2

QoL upgrade! LRT prioritization - I know LRT is still fresh and probably being revised somewhat as we speak, but it would be neat if LRT would prioritize the order of the zones based on things like character alignment and active missions. Villains and Goldsiders already have it rough enough, scrolling down the list to find their homes like second class citizens just rubs it in even more (although perhaps they already knew their choices would come at a cost).

Ouroboros Temp Powers - When you run an Ouro arc, everyone on the team receives credit for the arc and merits as though it were their contact, yet only the team lead typically receives the temp powers they award. Half of the time the temp power is a large motivation in running many of these arcs, it would be nice if the whole team could share in these rewards!

Global Accolades (with a catch) - A fellow player and I were discussing if exploration accolades should become global unlocks, I personally do not believe they should because of one word: merits. You would either have to eliminate hundreds of award merits from the game or risk other players immediately exploiting free availability of hundreds of merits to churn-and-burn characters that they create solely for merit farming. Obviously, the player base would probably wind up in an uproar if they find themselves no longer being rewarded for zone exploration
BUT I did think: what if each accolade allowed a 1 time unlock per times earned... meaning each time you earn one accolade you gain a credit which would show up on an un-earned exploration badge for the other characters on your account. Then if you so choose, you could click to redeem it and probably forfeit the 5 merits on whichever character you choose to award it to.
It sounds complex and like it would require a lot of additional programming so I imagine HC would probably rather let sleeping dogs lie on this one.
But if it WAS to be implemented, I suppose it could also be applied to other accolade powers like Geas or TF Commander. Might be something to consider!
