  2. I'm trying to have this character only do Science Origin contacts on Blue side, which would normally be Jonathan St. John Smythe in the Atlas Park City Hall, to Samuel Pierce, then to Jill Pastor from him. Except instead of that happening, Johnathan introduced me to someone not Samuel, but someone who could potentially introduce me to him, and it just kept going down that road instead of actually introducing me to Samuel Pierce. Now I'm level 9 and got introduced to Jill Pastor, skipping Samuel Pierce entirely! Samuel is still a 5-14 Contact while Jill is a 9-15 Contact, and when I talk to Samuel he just tells me to talk to Jill! I recall there was some way to actually get the contact you want, but I can't remember what it was or if I was just fabricating it mentally, though the Contacts page on the Wiki says that Detectives/Brokers introduce contacts that you haven't already met in your level range, so would it be just doing Radio Band and a Safeguard mission to get introduced to Samuel, and keep doing those until Samuel is introduce (potentially via turning off EXP gain)?

  4. Oh I imagine it can lol, but it's still something neat to do for a run or 2. And yea it's always neat how challenges can make use appreciate things more then normal. Too powerful sir/ma'am/person, we're gonna need you to power down, your sheer aura is messing with our powers ;-;
  5. That one actually sounds both insane to do but incredibly fun! If I ever attempt it I'd probably temporarily turn of XP gain every now and again as well, mostly just to farm without gaining XP and making the current enhancements unusable (at least until IO's are acquired).
  6. Seems my next character will be a StJ/SR Brute then! It'll be interesting cause I don't really play Melee archetypes most of the time, I normally play MM and Supporters mainly, with the occasional blaster, so it'll be neat to experience and pure Melee build, though I kind of figured that the "Pure Speedster" themed build would be Melee focused for obvious reasons lol.
  7. I had a couple of ideas for a few challenge runs and was curious to know what kind of challenges, if any, that any of you might have done! A few I thought of were: -Partnership/Sidekick Run: Grab another person, duo through all of the content all the way up to 50, you can't level solo, your partner/sidekick has to be there with you, no multiboxing. Fairly simplistic, but the scheduling is what makes it difficult 😉 -Tip%: Reach level 50 by only doing Tip and Alignment/Morality missions. Pre-level 20 you can do street sweeping, radio band/newspaper and mayhem/safeguard missions, but once you hit 20 you can only do Tip/Alignment/Morality missions. See how long it takes you to reach 50! Honestly there's a TON of them for every 10 level bracket for all 4 alignments, so you hopefully shouldn't be getting repeats unless you decide to not go through all the alignments as you do it.
  8. So I love going through the Base and Costume threads here in the forums cause I love seeing all the stuff people make, so I figure why not make one for builds too! I always find it so interesting the different kinds of builds people make, how they play them, their thoughts behind it, that kind of stuff. So what are some of your favorite builds? It could be because of thematic, narrative or roleplay reasons, technical or mechanical reasons or even just aesthetic reasons! You can be as in depth as you want so feel free to just give a simple description or share it all in depth with slotting, powers and the like if you want! To start off, one of my favorite builds is my character Orbeus who is a Time/Dual Pistols Defender, I made him after hitting random on the costume creator funnily enough and just adored the overall look, he looked like a time traveler of a grey alignment persuasion and I thought someone who cleanses timelines of abnormalities. So far I haven't built him up that much yet but I've been having a lot of fun slowing and freezing people in time and then unloading on them with bullets!
  9. Oooo, I sometimes forget that Archetypes have their own inherent mechanics too. Interesting combo, I'll check it out!
  10. Seismic Blast says "As your Seismic Shockwaves increases, your chance of triggering Seismic Shockwaves increases and the cooldown of other Seismic Blast attacks is slightly reduced." Should be potentially changed to "As your Seismic Pressure increases, your chance of triggering Seismic Shockwaves increases and the cooldown of other Seismic Blast attacks is slightly reduce." Additionally, Wild Fortress in Plant Manipulation says "You encase yourself and in a protective barrier that will absorb a moderate amount of damage." Should be potentially changed to "You encase yourself in a protective barrier that will absorb a moderate amount of damage." In Sonic Attack, Sirens Song has a note that says "The Sleep component of this power is Auto Hit against regular enemies, but a To Hit check is required to against AV's and players, as well as to make secondary effects apply." Potentially just get rid of the "to" in the sentence. The Tactical Arrow power set description says "Gain an advantage in combat with a combination of training techniques that boost your accuracy and movement skills in addition of Tactical Arrows tipped with a variety of payloads, which if used strategically, can dramatically alter a battle site." Potentially just change that "of" to "to". Temporal Manipulation's power Time Wall says "You're create time barrier to immobilize a single enemy." Potentially change that to "You create a time barrier to immobilize a single enemy." Aging Touch in Temporal Manipulation says "Targets affected by the Delayed effect will suffer from a more psionic damage over time." Potentially change that to "Targets affected by the Delayed effect will suffer from additional psionic damage over time."
  11. So I've been thinking of making what I call a Pure Speedster. That being a Speedster that only has Super Speed as their superpower and nothing else, which means powerset wise I'd want to use ones that are just physical attacks (like Street Justice, Super Strength, etc)) or passive benefits (Like Invulnerability, Regen, Super Reflexes, etc). So what would you all suggest for Archetype, Powersets and overall build? The main focus of this thematic build would be focusing on the Speed Power Pool powers and trying to crank up End Regen and Power Recharge as high as I can to really get the speedster feeling.

Havoc Punch in the Electricity Manipulation power set has the sentence "Havoc Punch can may knock down targets drain some Endurance from your target, or even overload their synapses, leaving them writing for a moment." Decent fix could be "Havoc punch can potentially knock down targets drain some Endurance from your target, or even overload their synapses, leaving them writing for a moment." Another in Electricity Manipulation, Dynamo says "While active, you to regenerate health and recover endurance very quickly."
  13. Field Operative in the Devices Power Set has the sentence "You use a LCD body coating to become partially invisible." It'd read better if it was instead "You use an LCD body coating to become partially invisible."
  14. Don't know if it was reported already but in the Dominator archetype description it says "Additionally, each time a Dominator attack, they come closer to unleashing his their true sadistic power of Domination." I have a habit of regularly reading all the descriptions for everything in character creation, so I might have more to put here soon.

  16. Weirdly enough, when I try to use it as a macro it says that "goto" is an unknown command.

  18. I have 2 macros setup for Defensive Attack and Bodyguard Mode but are there any other macros people would recommend? If so please share 'em!

  20. I meant specifically for Vidiotmaps, I know what the normal icons mean but I don't know what the 1 in a yellow box icon is for, or the green badge shaped 3, or the 8 in a red diamond, that kind of thing.
  21. Is there a legend/guide as to what the different icons mean? I know that the numbers correlate with the numbers on the top/bottom of the map and the like, but I don't know what icons are for what so I don't know what numbers correlate with what. Unless it tells you what icons match up ON the map itself and I'm just blind.

So I'm a huge fan of the Mutants and Masterminds Tabletop RPG, it lets you basically make whatever you can imagine for your heroes/villains/neutrals and so I had the wonder idea of making my City of Heroes characters into Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition characters! So here's one of the first ones, of my main, Jacky O' Lantern! For those curious, I made him in a neat Virtual Tabletop called Foundry VTT! And for reference as to what the numbers mean the 12 under the Mutants and Masterminds logo is his Power Level. For Power Level reference: -A 1-5 is variations of normal human capability. -An 8 is mostly non-powered superheroes focused mainly on skills and a few gadgets. -A 10 is a bog standard, normally street level, superhero or young or focused superhumans. -A 12 is a big league superhero, someone like Miss Liberty, a senior superhero with experience and good amounts of power. -A 14 is world protector level, someone like Statesmen, a superhero with a lot of power and experience backing them up, generally the big hitters of any super team. -Anyone 15-18 are Army to Planet destroyers of some kind, massive threats or power houses. I imagine Incarnates would generally be around PL 15. -Anyone 19-20 are universal to multiversal threats or powerhouses. This same scaling goes for the Abilities as well, though they're a bit more quantified, here's to table for it's scaling and how to use it! I'd love to see any of you, the communities, characters turned into M&M 3E characters and how you see them! Also if you don't know what M&M 3E is at all, or want guidance on making a character to do this, hit me up here or DM's, I'll happily help assist or guide! Though fair warning it could take a while, it is a TTRPG system after all!
  23. Thanks for the corrections! I didn't say "nobody plays this" just that not many do, I tried asking around but barely got any answers for info on Sentinel. So all the info I've posted for it is paraphrased from the wiki, including the passive! On the wiki the passive for Sentinels is listed as Vulnerability with a simple description. Same with me describing it as a "Ranged tank", as I mentioned I tried asking around but nobody really answered, so I just went off of what I saw from the in game description. I'll be sure to adjust and fix once I'm next free!

  25. Thanks for all the feedback! I'll be honest, he was the first that came to made when I thought "science" but you're absolutely right that he's a Tech hero instead! And thanks for the update on the Sentinel passive, I was grabbing the mechanics for the Archetype passives from the homecoming wiki and it didn't say that, either that or I misread it. I adore all this feedback, thank you a ton for it! Admittedly I did all this in one sitting over the course of 4-5 hours till midnight, so it's not the best I could've made it, so I really appreciate it. Someone on the Discord has informed me that I've done a ton of typos, along with too much capitalization, so I'm trying to fix that slowly as I go first since it's the simplest to fix! But if you want to proofread feel free!
