Oof. I look on Evilbay every once in a while when I remember the CCG existed 😄 but I don't know of any sites that would really have them.

There's a whole bunch of them eBay. Are these not what you're looking for?

Unfortunately I think I've exhausted all the sellers on Ebay, I even know two know on a first name basis since they were able to supply most of the cards I collected! I still need roughly 77 cards from the expansion 'Secret Origins' that came out a year after the core set 'Arena' came out.

  2. As a little kid me and my dad collected cards, from Pokémon to Yugioh to random cards from all sorts of places. In 2006, with the release of the City of Heroes CCG, we started collecting them too. Now years later I have adult money that I can spend on frivolous things, and since Homecoming has brought me back childhood nostalgia I started collecting cards again from the COH CCG. After a few years of hunting on second hand websites and nerdy thrift shops, I collected all the base Arena cards! Chuffed that I managed to accomplish this feat, I thought it would be simple to get a few of the Secret Origins cards and complete that collection too.... how wrong I was...

After a few months of searching I managed to scrounge together just over half of the SO cards, but I feel that my luck has finally run out. So I've come here to ask for advice, help, or maybe even find people who might have a few of the SO cards lying around that they would be willing to part with.

Would anyone be willing to help by providing collector websites that wouldn't be readily available on Google, or know of someone who might even have some of the cards lying around? I'm not all that interested in foil cards - they would be cool, but I think my Arena collection has like 2 in total since they're so high in demand. I've set realistic expectations that they're probably impossible to get.

P.S.: I was even thinking that if I can get higher quality images than those on the wiki I could even print them out myself (maybe even make a custom character card using the wayback machine on the old website alongside a few ~Warshade~ powers). I found a handful of websites that offer similar card stocks so it would be doable if a comprehensive high quality picture database could be created.

  3. Okay so I've been thinking about this...

FW's Underground be 40 - 50, since you can, with a bit of effort, get to 40 by the end of Night Ward, but another 5 level gap would be punishing.

    - So hear me out... What if we add a third zone (or Fourth if you want to do my Atlas Park/Shroud City idea 😛 ), that is literally just the road between Praetoria and First Ward. Like you could make Praetoria's first Task Force where you need to protect and escort a D.U.S.T./Resistance convoy heading to First Ward from all the Devouring Earth. It could be a nice segway into the underground maps as you need to get supplies into the city to safely start spelunking into the underground with your faction's support.

Imagine a long strip of winding roads with the RWZ Vanguard vehicle type mechanics of them moving, and then you have a few dozen faction soldiers running alongside them gunning down endless swarms of DE trying to overrun your convoy. It can be one non-stop action packed fight from beginning to end. Obviously as a TF it won't be the only mission, so the rest can focus on establishing a foothold in the underground and doing a mini introduction to what it has on offer and what enemies are available.

Plus as an added bonus you can explore what the world looks like outside of the sonic barriers. You can make it support the lore by having the DE not wiping you out because of Cole's deal, but obviously for appearance sake you still need to be attacked. I'm thinking something like Last of Us aesthetics, overgrown gas statons, broken down cars as people fled, low level infected humans wandering around harassing you, lichen colonies set up as booby traps - you know, basic end of the world environmental disaster type stuff.

Also as a fan of Cole (All hail), it could add more depth to his character by showing actually how dire the situation is outside of the barriers. Maybe leading into pro-Cole missions later on... maybe... I know it's off topic but I'm still salty that having a loyalist character you basically just give up on supporting Cole and his invasion.

  4. I agree with everything said in here so far, but just to add my two cents to the conversation I feel a few AE arcs can also be introduced into the game like Radio/Newspaper' type missions. Granted it would be nice to have an actual contact to talk to in the game world, and getting to choose where you need to go to do the missions and talk to random contacts in the game world itself.

I think most dedicated AE authors, like the people mentioned above, are actively trying to make arcs that are lore friendly. Everyone here is trying to answer some question or expand on some aspect of the game.

Mine too are centered around certain aspects of the lore that I want expanded on, and just took it upon myself to write those arcs and be as lore friendly as possible.

To give an example, I'd say my arc on the Nictus war tries expands on things that, in the AMAs, they said had reached a dead-end due to staff changes with people who were working on it leaving the team. So 'Kheldian Uprising' attempts to add to it by establishing the Nictus as a genuine Nemesis/Council style threat. It has you explore the origins of the Nictus, deal with the head honchos on Earth, and hopefully add gravity to the entire war; while still being open ended enough that there can be further expansion on the topic in either direction moving into the future or past. It was also my first arc!

    Spoiler

(I even have loads of easter eggs hidden in it, like the optional boss Requiem announcing he'd escape to the past (Cimorora), and a secret hidden ending where if you fail the last mission it has major ramifications such as Twilight's Son disappearing from Ouroboros, and explaining the origins of Dimension Lamda Rho 57-20 (aka the Werewolf dimension), where the main bad guy won in the Kheldian War.)

As a bonus expansion on my point, the following section contains spoilers for my Webb of Destruction Arc; I'd recommend you play it yourself before reading this, but here's a bit of behind the scenes:

    Spoiler

To preface this: There is a mission blueside where you fight your alternate dimension version of you. It was originally implied that this clone was either Primal or Praetorian you, depending on your alignment. But there was apparently a big outcry from players that they wanted to personally create their own Praetorian counterpart. Pinned to this is there is no lore on Arachnos' origins. Also, in my opinion, Cole is a tragic hero and deserves a better nuanced explanation for why he did the things he did...

Enter my arc - It attempts to do a lot of things at once, and I think, from the reviews I've gotten, does so successfully without being too complex? The trilogy seeks to answer/expand on four things:

    1. What is the rest of the Praetorian world like/what was it during the Hamidon War? - Answer is arc 1: I really tried to frame it as a fight for survival, it was just lucky that the Croatoa maps have the green haze so I could explain that as radiation from the nuclear suicide a lot of countries chose over Hamidon's occupation.

    2. Why did Cole do what he did? - Answer is Arc 1: Praetoria is pretty awful during the Hamidon Wars and Cole tried resolving the war by escaping to/conquering our dimension

    3. Who founded Arachnos? - Answer is in arc 2: Time traveling Praetorians that founded Arachnos as a means to stop Hamidon before he became too powerful, remaining in the boundaries of the lore that it was founded in Italy, and 'The Weaver' (Russo in my arc) and Weaver-One (Dr. Webb) were both founding members.

    4. Why do you never see the Praetorian version of you in game? - Answer is in arc 3: In conjunction to the regular redside arc you play in Ouroboros, Mender Tesseract has you assassinate yourself in the past (the time traveling Praetorian), and then announces at the end of the arc that the other menders found that changing the past so that you never arrived in Primal Earth was better for the casualty curve... So it avoids the pitfall of taking agency away from players and how they want their Praetorian counterpart to be, but also explains to those that don't have a plan for their Praetorian Counterpart why they never see themselves in game; All while framing it in the larger Ouroboros story of trying to get Recluse into power/making him stronger. (I even have a hidden letter from Dream Doctor lying around in one mission).

Also Dr. Brian Webb was the founder of Portal Corp in Primal Earth, but I explained in my arc that his company in Praetoria had been lost in New York after the Nuke went off in Shroud City next door. The Clockwork tech was stolen by Berry after Webb disappeared to our timeline but again that's just a small easter egg (and I really don't like Berry so I'll do anything to take a shot at him...)

All in all I think if it were up to me, all our missions would be added to the game! Loads of authors seek answer questions, and I think adding them to the game would make the entire lore aspect better... only problem is trying to get all the overlapping stories to fit into a larger narrative (and getting people to actually read the arc content)! 😜

  5. Hi everyone! I wanted to start this topic to suggest any powers that people want to see have alternate animations in the costume designer and in-game.

Personally I would love to see 'Envenom' from the poison set have the option to not be a projectile vomit animation. While it'd be really cool for a zombie-esque toon, my ninja/poison alchemist toon looks silly spitting at foes. Maybe just give an option for it to look like 'Weaken' from the same set? (And then maybe an option for Weaken to look like Envenom for people that want to go all out on the zombie theme!).

Another suggestion is have a Peacebringer's Combat Flight have an option to look like 'Hover'. It's cool to have a default fly animation for it at higher levels when you can zip around with it, but the alternate animation would look really cool at low levels and for people that want their Peacebringer to have that -power pose- before beating u-... I mean arresting... enemies.

If there's a similar thread to this let me know! Otherwise what alternate power animations would you like to see? 🙂

You have to try his Architect mission he just did. It was so intense.

Edit: I think the AE employees should get security in... he's walking around in circles taking about the intense Architect mission he did over and over...

Edit 2: I hid in Studio B... He followed me in and is now pushing his mission onto Arachnos soldiers.

Edit 3: ^ Taken as security were escorting him out. They probably saved his life, Double Tap, Comrade and Hollow Point look ready to start shooting...

  7. I started playing the game with my parents when I just started elementary/primary school (When I couldn't play without their supervision 😅) and rejoined Homecoming half way through my undergrad! I'm really glad to be back, loads of memories wrapped up in this game of me and my parents making alts when it rained outside.

Let's also add a Atlas Park Night Ward using the Halloween zone minus the trick or treat stuff, and add some missions...

Considering that Paragon City in Praetoria is called Shroud City, and was nuked in the Hamidon Wars, you could definitely make a 'Night Wardesque' zone featuring the destroyed Atlas Park map from the Lord Recluse SF! Link it to some story surrounding Tyrant (maybe a conflict between the Ouroboros group and Dr. Dream to change the course of the Praetorian war due to a secret hidden in the city), add loads of Apparitions, lots of irradiated Devouring Earth, and then maybe even reuse some of the Vanguard tanks and assets to make it look like a huge battle took place there in the days before the city's destruction - then I think you'd have an amazing zone. You could even use the train station as a center piece to the area's conflict/portal area/place that needs to be defended because of it being a unique dimensional hot spot. (Mentioned in a badge in Recluse's Victory).

  9. Something I would love to see is temporary costume powers being made available to the masses. On live my main toon was a cast out Carnival Mistress, and now on Homecoming its not even in the event Halloween costumes available. Having it as an option to buy costumes in the P2W would be my dream come true of reliving my old Live toons in Homecoming City of Heroes.

On the topic of sidekicks suggested by @CrudeVileTerror that would be amazing! MM style pet that can go around fighting with you, but disabled in team play. Adds a lot of flavour ideas for characters and solo players!

  10. Hi everyone, I've been a long time Kheldian player and have quite a few of them as I can't get enough of tweaking and working on them till they're a diamond in the rough. That being said, I would like to address the state of the archtypes post the Christmas update with a few things I find as pet peevs playing them.

First of all, Kheldians are relatively well balanced if you use them as intended as group support characters. I've personally managed to build a powerhouse tri-form/human only Warshade and Peacebringer on a single character build and can solo AVs as either playstyle. However, that being said, I do agree the Warshade is weaker in the respect that they cannot solo as well as any other archetype in the game, and really do need mobs to fuel it for it to be an amazing class, making it a long winded affair to fight singular AVs or EBs. I would suggest in this regard maybe changing the Kheldian mechanic of group play to something more in line with a Defender's archtype, where as a solo player you receive larger benefits, but in group play the Kheldian buffs are weaker, but wider ranging. For example a +10% damage and defense boost as a solo player; But a +2% resistance, defense, damage (ect.) boost in teams. Obviously not those values, but the concept overall. This would not only circumvent the frustration many players had in Live and now in Homecoming about a shortage of enhancement slots (I personally don't mind it but I agree more slots would always be nice! 😉 ), but it would also make the class more friendly for newer players.

The main peev I personally have is the new long range teleport rework. I enjoyed being able to jump into a purple portal across entire zones, since it felt like a very 'Warshady' thing to do. The new rework takes away some of the joy playing as a teleport inherent Warshade since the cooldown and the gfx have made Warshade teleporting feel as if the archtype was left behind. I would request that the long range teleport either be brought back as an inherent power, or as a power in the set, since that would make it fun to jump around again. If that's not possible, then please reduce the cooldown on the new teleport for Warshades, and allow for the customization of the gfx to allow for the purple portals. Keeping the badge collecting feature for the teleport would actually work really well if you see it in the terms of the Warshade having to see a place first before being able to teleport there.

Another rework for the Warshade that I would suggest is removing starless step. It isn't practical in a fight to be jumping all over the place, especially in a group setting given that for a majority of 'triformers' they'll be either in Dwarf or Nova anyway; As for Human-only, the powers are geared for ranged fighting, with a handful such as Essence drain or Gravity Well needing you to be in melee range. I saw that Unchained Essence and Quasar worked okayish with the to-hit buff, but after popping a sunless mire as either a triform or human-only player, do you really need the to hit bonus Starless Step gives? Perhaps a melee power or even a new pet (permanent or otherwise) would really be appreciated here. You could even use this power space to provide a boost for solo players through a toggle or pet to circumvent the problem outlined in the first paragraph.

Peacebringers are much more player friendly. There is not much you can change about them as they really do feel like duct tape as a super hero. Need a tank? Be a Dwarf. Need a ranged blaster? Be a Nova. Need a swiss army knife? Be a human only or a PB with any combination of the shapeshifting powers. However, Combat Flight for Peacebringers could use a rework in its visuals, as it feels goofy 'flying' so slowly around in a Hover-type power. It would be nice if the power was at least customizable to be changed into the same look as regular Hover.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    So in summation:

    Warshade:

Rework Dark Sustenance to make it more solo player friendly,

Bring back the Long Range Teleport or lower the cooldown on the new teleport power and add an option for Kheldian gfx,

Remove starless step and add a melee or pet power that can either help human only players or circumvent the first problem.

    Peacebringer:

Allow for the change of Combat Flight's gfx to that of Hover.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope y'all have a happy new years!
