  2. I honestly don't know how to thank you guys enough! I honestly always thought that i had to pursue softcap defs and almost entirely ignore resists as a dom, but you opened a totally new concept of slotting doms for me. I'll try the build that journey put out to see how it feels and, with a little more experience with it, i'll try to pull something out myself.   3. Hello all! After some failed attempts with a mind/psi dom, i've finally decided to give another primary set a chance. From what i've researched, plant/psi is a really good pairing so i decided to go for it. The build i built have perma dom/hasten/link minds and 5s off drain psyche. It also has ranged def.   4. Hello to my fellow doms! I've been playing for a while with a Mind/Psi dom and i honestly have a lot of fun with it. However, the long CDs on MC & MD and some mobs psi res are far too punishing for it tonbe viable in higher tiers (or maybe i'm just not a good player at all 😁) Since i like the "mentalist" theme a lot, i'm thinking about creating another character who can be a little more efficient in end-game which has a mind primary or psi secondary. Can you guys give me some tips on it?
  5. The main problem i can see in your build is the fact that you did not softcap any defenses. Personal force field cannot be used with any offensive powers, and if you turn it off you'll see how squishy your character is. Beside that, i'd suggest you to pursue more set bonuses (you have too little of them to be actually effective). If you turn psinado off (remember that the chance for +rech to proc is 33%), you'll see your rech times are too high (hasten with 166s). I understand you went for lot of +dmg bonuses, but if you take too long to actually use your skills you won't do much damage in the long term. I've done something really quick with the powers you used on your character (it's certainly not optimized, but it has ranged def softcapped). Personally, i don't think the force field mastery is very effective for blasters, with few powers that are actually useful (i'd use mace mastery in it, for the sole reason of scorpion's shield's s/l def).   7. Good afternoon to everyone! I've been playing homecoming straight for about 2 months now and realized that i always go for ranged characters. Now i've decided to start a melee one, and since i like psi theme i decided to get it as a primary. After some research i found that SR pairs really well with it, and for thematic reasons i like stalker more than scrapper. That being said, i have some doubts about it: 1) Should i try softcap defenses? Or is it important to have resistance on melee characters? 2) Which are the most important powers on each set i should go to? I know both questions are very generic, but i haven't found much enlightening information on this forum about how should i build this character. Any help will be appreciated!
  8. Hey guys! I've been experimenting several psi-related builds (because is my favorite powerset) and came across the psi/mm blaster. I've found several useful information in the forum, however there were some aspects about the build that really got me thinking - Is it possible to achieve perma-hasten + softcap ranged? And most important, is perma-hasten a requirement to the build? - Is it interesting to optimize scorpion shield's S/L/E softcap?   9. Hey guys! After trying several different sort of archetypes, i finally decided to go for a sentinel. I chose Psi/Dark/Psi because i really enjoy playing psi and thought that dark is very thematic with it. As for the build, here are some thoughts - I went for defenses instead of resistances. I guess i managed to get some ok resists, however the defenses are not softcapped (got several to 38's, but none to 45) - Almost permahasten (5 sec delay; if going with agility incarnate, it's perma, even though i dunno if it's the best incarnate) - Focused too much on the healing skills, and had no idea if that's the best to do. They however helped to achieve better recharge times - Ok accuracy - Chose to 5-slot dominate for another single-target damage, though i don't know if it's necessary If you could help guide me in some way, i'd apreaciate very much!   12. Thank you very much for the reply! In therms of survivability, do you think this build works? Is it softcapped to any type of defense? You think that not having terrify was bad for the progression of your character? In your opinion, is it worth to invest in melee damage such as mind probe? Sorry for many questions, i'm really trying to build something functional but don't know where to start

I'm new to the game and am planning on doing a Mind/Psi/Psi Dominator that is capable of soloing fairly well (i realize it won't be the best soloer, but i just don't want to depend on groups all the time). I know there are better options for dominators for this purpose, but i like the psychic theme and would like to stick with it. I've read past topics about this type of build, however i don't understand the game very well and did not understand most of what i've read. If anyone can give me some sort of enlightment on understanding how to build my character, i'd very much appreciate it.
